Can't open the save, it looks to be the same problem we get when a patch is released - the save is locked. Keygen you'll need to follow the procedure used last time perhaps to unprotect the save, patch, then protect the save and send on.

The patch for BtS affects vanilla?

Yes, Firaxis wasn't clear about this. The BtS patch also patches vanilla and warlords.

Does anyone know how to uninstall the patch for BtS only and not the entire expansion pack?

Yes, that looks to be the answer. Give it a crack and see what happens.

I'm not sure how to uninstall the BtS patch, but if snoopy's solution doesn't work, you only need to uninstall Vanilla, patch it to the previous version, unprotect the game, play, patch, etc as per before.

This workaround only works for those who don't have BtS installed and play with others that have it installed. The reference was for you in case you don't have BtS installed. I have it

Though haven't done that before, uninstalling vanilla should make the expansions unplayable since they supposed to need vanilla in order to install/play.

If no other solution is found then I will be forced to uninstall BtS and install it again

I'll wait until tommorow then...
