On the topic of backup scheduling:

We need to pick a time at which the Pitboss server can go down for about 45-60 minutes either once per night or once per week so that it can be automatically backed up.

Unless I am mistaken, you are all in the following timezones:

    DrDeke -5 (Detroit)
    BerX -6 (Chicago)
    Soltz -8 (LA)
    NukeB -8 (LA)
    Keygen +2 (Cairo)
    Ricket +10 (Brisbane)

(The city names are just there for examples of cities in the specified time zones.)

Given this large spread, it does not appear that there is any convenient time of day during which the server can go down for an hour to be backed up every day. I therefore propose that we change the backup schedule to once per week in order to reduce the level of inconvenience it causes everyone.

Even so, we will need to pick a time of day and day of week. For this, I propose Monday mornings at 1:00AM EST (0600 UTC). This should result in the following local times:

    DrDeke: 1:00AM Monday Morning
    BerX: Midnight Sunday/Monday Night
    Soltz: 10:00PM Sunday Night
    NukeB: 10:00PM Sunday Night
    Keygen: 8:00AM Monday Morning
    Rickety: 4:00PM Monday

Would this be acceptable to you all? I suspect that if this is a problem for anyone, it will be Rickety. I'm not familiar with Rickety's daily schedule; I am hoping that since the downtime occurs before the end of the normal business day, that it will not be a problem. But if this schedule doesn't work well for you or anyone else, please let me know.

    Thanks,
    Rusty (DrDeke)

I actually received the last two notications from Unknown Sender at Unknown Domain, which was caught by my spam filter

Yep, the automatic backups seem to be working now. I'm going to let it run tonight but after that I'll change it to once-weekly.

                Turn -3800 played!

The Americans are beginning to beleive they have been placed in the wrong country (i.e., Canada or Norway). A scout warrior reports nothing but snow and ice.
