i am away for my yearly military service over the next four weeks.

although i have my notebook with me and UMTS/GPRS internet connection, i cannot promise any decent rate. with a bit of luck (HSDPA or UMTS in the office) i should be able to do a round every second day. but if i'm stuck in a bunker without even slow (GPRS) connection, i'm afraid the turns will only be sent on the weekends

please have patience with me

last year i let myself be re-evaluated and am officialy a "IT sapper" (correct translation). but in effect we're just office personel helping the heads of our batallion.

so basically fotocopying and filing faxes, taking the phone, a bit of guarding and loads of other wasted time

It is a very important job

Can't get everything everyone needs done such as logistical supplementaion of supplies,gear and manpower without qualified personnel

it WOULD be important if our army would make sence, for instance if we'd be at war like the US, UK and many other nations. but our army has such an outdated structure. i mean... the batallion that i work for are soldiers who mount mobile transmitters. however in days of satellite surveillance, infra-red cameras and cruise missiles, such a venture is useless.

and come on... the chance that switzerland has a defensive territorial war is extremely slim! and if it should come that far it would be either our neighbors or an enemy who was powerful enough to come "through" our neighbors. and considering the neighbors are italy, france and germany, we'd be overrun in a day or two

so in one word: useless!

alright, the GOOD news is that i have the computer, can play the turns (though slowly) and have (infrequent) internet access --> so i can play my turns.

the bad news is that i don't have your email addresses here. so i'd be happy if the one who should get my turn could write an email to sabrewolfACS [at] gmail [tod] com. in this case it's grandpa troll
