So I tried loading the game under Multiplayer -> Play by E-Mail -> Load Game but when I do so, I get a message saying:

                "Civilization IV

The save file you have selected is protected to ensure that the assets in your mod folder have not been changed.

                (OK)"

When I click OK, Civ4 just exits and spits me back to the Desktop.

I have not made any modifications of any kind to my Civ 4 install. I am running patch 1.61. The "about this build" window in Civ4 says:

                "Civ Version: 161
                Save Version: 103
                Build Version: 1.6.1.1841 (45604)
                Build Date: Thu Mar 30 10:49:29 2006
                Build: FINAL RELEASE
                Mod Name: None"

I will try loading the game on my home computer when I get home this evening. If that doesn't work, I don't know what's going on. Are you guys running some other version than patch 1.61? Any other ideas?

Maybe you or Smellycowsquid have some incompatible mods enabled?

I have never installed a single mod or made any modifications of any kind to my copy of Civ4.

Edit: I think it was me, I reinstalled just to make sure, and loaded the latest patch, I will send the game tonight to DrDeke.
