            • I've resent the turn to Lothar copying in Platypus Rex. It would be good to get some pace going in this game again!

                  • How many of you use the In-Game send?

I use it and it is generally reliable, plus you can add multiple e-mail addresses and it will automatically send the game to all of them. Then there is no remembering to send.

The only problem I have noticed with the in-game send, is that if for some reason you play the wrong turn (i.e. someone sends you a previsous turn and you re-play it.) When the game asks if you want to overwrite the file, if you click cancel, then the game will send the old copy of the turn anyway. Other than that I have no problems with it.

                        • It has to be a pop server, I think from your isp. Don't touch any of the secure log in stuff.

                          • Yah, if you are using a free e-mail service like gmail, or MSN, you will need to get the outgoing mail server settings from your ISP.

For example, I use my Gmail account for PBEM and my ISP is Charter Cable. For this I type my Gmail account e-mail address into CIV for my e-mail, and then for the Mail server I type Charter's POP server which is "mail.charter.net".

Almost all ISPs will have a sending POP server available for their customers even if their customers are using a different e-mail service. Call your ISP to get the POP server address. Very few POP servers use any of the secure settings, so don't worry about having to find out your username and password for your ISP account.

Also for those that don't know, seperate your send to e-mail addresses by a ";" and you can add more than 1 recipient, and CIV will send 1 copy of the save to each e-mail listed.
