wierd stuff by the way: i had set that everybody has their own island. but for some wierd reason i'm stuck with an AI on mine do others of you share an island with an AI or another player?

also: who set their civics to emancipation? there's no real point because it will take 70 turns at least for the first town. there were better choices imho

Well I wont give the details right now, but I'm definitely NOT alone.

Agreed that the "latest" civics are not necessarily the best choice, and I like that; we can each use different opening strategies in this game. Re: emancipation I don't use it right now either, but notice that those of us who don't use it take a unhappiness penalty for that, which increases as cities grow - good thing there's the culture slider while we gather those luxuries...
