I think my IP changed several times last night, probably during the times you crashed out. Very odd really... anyway, there would be an expected delay if that happened - both about a 5 min delay for the updater to notice it, and then not sure how long it takes for the DNS lookup to actually work properly. Normally when a fixed DNS is updated it takes a day or two... that hasn't been the case with Dyndns for me in the past I don't think, but then again...
Next time you can't connect, post the last 2 portions of the ip address (so if it's 192.168.1.101 post 1.101) that shows when you ping snoopy369.dyndns.org (start->run, then cmd, then hit okay, then type ping snoopy369.dyndns.org)
