Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
please note: we don't have to play militaristic. if i have lands like you did, i would also focus on tech- and wonderwhoring
also, any requests regarding the AI players?
i see following options:
a) random
b) the meanest buggers of the game (montezuma, ghengis, kublai, tokugawa)
c) players that will challenge us economically.

also, i'd quite like to have another classic start. those first turns are quite annoying. and don't worry, horseback riding is not anymore an ancient tech, so mongols would have to do the detour via the expensive HBR to rush.
i'd also like to have another quick game speed to make this game finished before 2008

Mmm, let's take the Greek, and see what that gives. (no early risktaking this time )
Too bad you want another Classic start, but if it means I got some of my preferatations that will do.
Quick game all the way, maestro!
With raging barbs on, 1 mean bugger and 1 economic powerhouse sound fine to me. I would suggest Montie if you choose a jungle type map, and one of the Khan's for a rocky map. Tokugawa could do fine for other climate types.

I'll thumb my nose on your imperial ambitions all the way from Alpha Centauri.
How about a "shuffle" map with choosen climate as for choosing the AI meanie?

i won't insist on classical start, but i do quite like it so if you insist, we can also start ancient.
interesting idea with the mix of warmonger and builder AI... i'll check which one is most useful for that, but i presume your choice (lizzie, with philosophical and financial) could be best. or fin+creative. organised and spiritual for the AI is not so strong as it already has advantages with the anarchy times...
what's the shuffle map like?

Shuffle gives a random map of 4-5 types. A Pangea, continents, fractal, archipalego and perhaps 1 other type can come out of it. And we won't know until we scouted the whole place.
Classic start is ok with me, but if you insist on a horde of Immortals or Kushiks be my guest to start on Ancient.

as for hordes of immortals and keshiks: the oposite is the fact imho. because ghengis and similar like to rush for their UUs and early warfare units, while we tend to dismiss defences. with classical start we surely have an archer built from the very beginning on

oh sorry, i had forgotten this one, sorry! after my CFA exam next week... finally (i hope )
question: is there any legal way of doubling research speed? this is excluding extreme specialist use, building research or permanent lightbulb usage. currently i'm a bit troubled about how a fellow player has caught up from being 5 techs behind to just 1 tech behind in the last 15 turns or so. before that he was slower or nearly as fast as i was. in addition, he equalised the army strength (from bein about 33% weaker) and in the mean time built factories and similar stuff and gathered some money for upgrades...

Mmm, I managed to hit 4-5 techs in that timespan ONLY by use of specialists and the freebie techs upon discovery.
The only other (legal) way I can think of is that he researched quite a number till the second/third last turn and then in that timespan finished them all.
As on the production/power stuff, can't help you there. I focused almost exclusively on trade/research (I knew beforehand that getting on par militarily was a lost cause ). Perhaps the same trick as on research? Starting new production before the current one was finished?
Sorry for the late response, lost track of this thread.

There you go!
This was just set up quickly, so no obligation on your part to accept it. Cylindrical Duel-sized map, random climate and sealevel, raging barbs and cities can convert back to previous owner by culture. O yes, all victory conditions are on.
If you want preferences of your own, just state them and we'll see. Seems like your other PBEM's don't get going either?
