      • Okeydokey, here we go!

1630AD - continued Road building east of Memphis, and North of Elephantine, From Workshop,Continued exploration around Montezuma's continent with Galleon, and exploring the great outer darkness with another Galleon. Sent a free Worker to a farm south of Vetulonia to build a road, and another to a Cottage west of Kyoto. Began the building of a Workshop south of Thebes, continued developing land south of Alexandria in contested space North of Delphi. Leonardo Da Vinci has appeared at Thebes, who I promptly send of to Alexandria.

1635AD - Send a worker to a farm west of Heliopolis roadbuilding, Continued shipping explorations, began the building of a mine east of Pi-Fe Messes, and a road south of Thebesand Vetulonia.

1640AD - A university at Heliopolis has been built, have replaced this building with a Bank. The Theatre of Alexandria has been completed, and the budgeting committee has decided a Courthouse is needed. Began the connection of a village NW of Elephantine by road, and of a town N of same. Have opened borders with Huayna Capac, to allow for Exploration by Galley. Rice field road has been connected south of Alexandria, Leo has joined Alexandria, with hopes that his added culture bonus will help extend Alexandra's borders onto the southern continent.

1645AD - Confusian Academy has been built at Thebes, with Temple to replace it in the queue.Have discovered the continent holding Asoka of the Indian Empire, and have initiated contact peacefully, and opened borders with them.

Empire. Assorted road projects continued, but there's not much left for them to do. Need to expand somewhere to give them something to do!

1655AD - the Aztecs have dropped by, asking to trade Silk for Fish. Sounds good to me, but I'm no fisherman, so I agree. Replaceable Parts tech has been completed, so Leonard N tells me, and have told him to research Economics, in hopes of gaining the Great Merchant first. The Thebes Confusian Temple has been constructed, with A theatre to replace it. Kyoto U. is now on line, with a Bank to be built now. Alexandria Boundaries have expanded, but not in the Southerly direction, as hoped. Signs of Worker Unemployment increase.

1665AD - Univerisity of Vetulonia has been completed. have begun Barracks, as have noted that our Armed Forces are starting to look a little, er, old. Need to begin army renovations.

                    • Damn, I'm itching to have a go at this, but I must be strong!

Mobilization seems like the likeliest option to me, if we're going to upgrade our military infrastructure then we'll need to give them a bit of practise.

                      See thee soon

                        • Actually, I was more thinking of perhaps a bit of modernisation. Some of those towns still have Warriors in them. With Rifling comming up, we could be a bit behind. And, with the lack of land around the place, I expect a bit of invasion around the place. So, we should be prepared.

                                1. Upgrade the army - first thought is to skip musketeers as rifling is so close. Wait for rifling then pump out riflemen.
                                2. Upgrade the Navy - head for steel once we have rifling then frigates and dry docks.
                                3. Upgrade the artillery - once we get chemistry then its cannon time.
                                4. Carry on exploring.
                                5. Cash in the great merchant for wads of cash.
                                6. Begin to specialise the cities.
                                7. Sell everything thats not nailed down.

turn 1 - 1680 - Sent some workers to farm some sheep in the NE. War Elephant sent to Osaka to await the ferry to Nara - bump up their defences. The other workers I sent to rest up W of our vinyards (Aaah, the bucolic life!). One of our caravels discovers more Incas SE of Rome/Greece. Bring back one of our Galleons for ferry service.

turn 2 - 1685 - Shakespeares Theatre opened in Memphis, sickness here so started grocer. Barracks complete in Elephantine, started Bank - could always use more money. Osaka seems happy. Pascal born in Antium. Time to look at specialising

Culture/Great Artists in Alexandria the culture created will help in grabbing land on Greek/Roman continent.

Wealth/Great Merchant in Thebes they're already rich there - build on that

Production/Engineer in Kyoto second highest in empire already.

Learning/Scientist in Heliopolis - third highest ranking and for 'city of the sun' seems appropriate.

Aretas set sail for the new world (12 turns to arrive so I won't see the benefit)

turn 3 - 1690 - Pirate galley took on one of our Galleons - Pirates sleeo with the fishes. Thebes finishes Heffalump (sent to Osaka) - carry on with another. Heliopolis finishes bank go on with Open University as part of specialisation. Vetulonia finishes Granary build market to up rvenue and cheer up populace. Edo finishes Uni start Observatory. Bank finishes in Kyoto, start on barracks

Forgot about point 7 above - starting to trade

Monty happy to give me 9 GPT for corn - lovely

Huayna gave wheat for fish who ate all the pies? I can now.

3GPT from Caesar for sheep - I'd heard rumours...

                                2GPT from Alexander for sausages

                                3 turns to rifling

turn 4 - 1695 - Thebes builds another Heffalump(to Vetulonia) started another. Quiet 5 years

turn 5 - 1700 - A new century. Kyoto completes barracks move on to Observatory. Discovered a secret stash of Romans just E of Aztecs - going in for a closer look.

turn 6 - 1705 - Toynbee thinks we are the most cultured civ in the world - I think he's pretty nice too. Rifling discovered - onto Chemistry and Steel - build, build, build those bluecoats. Heffalump (to Edo) finished in Thebes - started on Rifleman. Everybody's pleased with us - how are we supposed to get a punch-up now. Secret Roman city is Circei - seems to be only one on island.

turn 7 - 1710 - Courthouse finishes in Alexandria build Uni for culture. Benjamin Franklin born in Vetulonia - send him to Kyoto to set up shop there. Monty trades crab for wine.

turn 8 - 1715 - First Rifleman built in Thebes - I like them so much I decide to build some more. Send them to the more vulnerable SE. Memphis completes Grocer, now that everybody is healthy again let's churn out riflemen. Caesar builds Spiral Minaret (had to check out the 'pedia to find out what that does). Benjamin Franklin arrives at Kyoto and settles there.

turn 9 - 1720 - Vetulonia builds market, starts on Observatory for science. Wang Anshi born in Athens.

turn 10 - 1725 - Kyoto builds observatory starts on Riflemen. Valmiki born in Rome.

There we go, I enjoyed that.

The save game is the very end of 1725 so that the next vizier gets all the fun of chemistry being discovered.

The game highlighted something I always have trouble with, just what are you supposed to do with all those workers in the middlegame? Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Now that the stewardship of Rumpo the first has come to an end the only piece of advice I can give is to repeat the advice I was given when I first started. "This is our nation, don't break it!"

                                Screenies and save to follow.

                                Have fun
