Patch 1.09-Does PBEM Password reset?

I have since installed the 1.09 patch. After receiving latest save file for
PBEM, it comes to part where I have to input my password and after I do,
then click ok, nothing happens. I can keep clicking ok and ditto..nothing
changes. If I click cancel, password screen goes away and then
initialization completes, screen goes black a sec and I am back to Main
Menu!

How do I resolve this? Thanks

It appears that you don't. As far as I can tell, if you patch you must restart any PBEM games you are involved in.

sigh. its looking like that. thing is SOME players in the group, despite patch, can continue. I am wondering if its to do with whether you set a password or perhaps more crucially, have changed a password?

Part of the patch was to add password encryption to PBEM saves. It would make sense that saves previous to v109 would not work, since that would introduce a way to defeat the encryption. There was a similar situation with the last patch for C3C.

Has anyone successfully loaded a v100 PBEM save with a password? One confirmable case would shoot this theory down (or reveal a new bug), but that's my guess right now...
