PBEM Question

So I am about to install the game, I am bored with civ3, well not- bored... but I want the good stuff man!

I have a wierd PBEM question- Can you start a game, say hot seat or over the net live- do 50 turns with your friends, and then say- Convert the game to PBEM, thus avoiding the really quick turns and playing the longer ones by email, it seems to me that this would friggin' rock, any help?

I'd like this too. Someone somewhere already said online saves could not be loaded via PBEM. Drop me a PM if you want to try and double check this sometime...
