We had an interesting espionage-enhanced-science battle to get to Liberalism, with both of us hiding our respective scientific prowess until the end ... and ending, next turn, with both of us getting the tech simultaneously I have no idea how tech ties are broken ... we shall see, I guess.

On an caveat, if a player does NOT log in at all he/she is automatically disqualified.
