    Clarification

    Thanks Chrisius!

    From Alexman:
    As with previous Civ4 patches, you need to clear your admin password before upgrading. Did you do that?

    When you have an admin password for your game, saves with a different checksum than what you have on your machine will not load (to prevent cheating).
    Alexman continues:
    If you want an admin password, ((the game's Admin)) opens the save with v2.00, save the game after clearing the password, then upgrade to 2.08, then load the game, then set the password again, then pass on the save.
    So I guess we need to wait for the game's Administrator to save the game in 2.08 format before anyone else upgrades...

      yes basically but ive sent it on to dauphin at version 2.00, though i will be patching after this turn
      A proud member of the "Apolyton Story Writers Guild".There are many great stories at the Civ 3 stories forum, do yourself a favour and visit the forum. Lose yourself in one of many epic tales and be inspired to write yourself, as I was.

          I will clear the password later tonight after work (midnight-ish PST)

          will read the thread so I get it right before I go.

          If I have no success, I will set up another game with patch and leave it with Paddy

                      Sooo, should I play that old unpatched version or wait? I haven't patched yet, but as this is my only WL PBEM it's no problem do apply it
                      But there's no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

                        Maka, did you receive the save from Paddy? If so, then yes - go ahead and download and install the patch before you play your turn.

                          If the save came from akulla, then I say don't play it. We'll need to wait for Paddy to foward the patched game instead.
