Why cant the barbarians around us be like that? After absorbing a village into the empire the village people gave us a map. Some cheared.

But some of the elders fled to the craggy valleys to the north and fortified there position. They hold council with wild animals in there midst and speak of my peoples destruction around there fire pits and meat pots

They have taken up arms against my rule. This will not be tolerated!

On leaving the woods for the clear light of day I stumbled upon a man, dressed in skins, eating corn roasted over an open fire.

He was civilised, friendly and bid me share in his meager feast. We spoke of friendship and other mutually beneficial arrangements.

Afterwards we drank from my skin of crushed grapes which tasted somewhat strange and made us laugh a great deal???
