Ok I have tried this four times in last few hours
and each time struck with same result as per attached pic... so i will again restart the game 
Could everyone check they played the new save (called Ancients II) - not the original (called Day of the Ancients)
The game I will start next will be callped Ancients III, and the system will save it into a new folder with that name
