Isn't Indiana on the East Coast? It looks that way from here. Of course, when I lived on the East Coast, Indiana looked like it was somewhere near Reno.
Actually, I have to finish chapter 13 of 'Elemental Geosystems' and take and online quiz tonight, but instead I'm here playing this turn and figuring out how to do a dual install. Does that mean I'm not a spammer, or that I won't get my homework done tonight?
Little known fact about bears: far-sighted, poor depth perception...
Eff the Elemental Geosystems stuff. When I were a lad, there were no such thang as continental drift (even though a 2 year old could see how SAmerica and Africa matched, duh) but the Berings Land Bridge "Rose and Fell by whim of nature." Duh to the power of 2 at least.
Don't believe that what you learn for your tests is truth. Trust your own judgement and question everything. A child is the world's greatest scientist (at least not a conservative child - that's for con-ster LOL) because they question everything. Question everything. Question the "known facts." This Bear has made a lot of good living by not believing what has been told to be
"fact."
But, in the meantime, you're a solid dude if you play the turn. Big
Its not a matter of belief for me- I just keep a best-info model in my head to test against the real thing if I ever get the chance. I've been able to grasp it all except the stuff about 'parcels of air' rising and sinking and forming clouds and rain...
The most surprising part of the book is that I expected it to go on about global warming and such, but the author most of all seems to stress (writing about a year or two ago) how stupid people are in general (to paraphrase) for building communities in high risk areas that have been scientifically shown to be so for decades, then expecting to be bailed out by everyone else when the inevitable happens. A modern day proverb...
Sorry about the delay, I went out last night and had toooooo many cocktails
