would it be worth to put one there?
Well, I'd say not at the moment as we can't even use oil. When we get to the point we can use it, it depends on whether we have enough oil for the both of us without that desert source. I believe we should. (I have one in my territory near Neapolis, and there's one more up north, though I am not sure if it's in your territory or in Rome, I forgot to check.) Basically, as long as we both have oil, I'd say there's no reason to settle that site. Just watch it so nobody else sneaks their settler in there.

I find an older unit and send it there to squat on
I first take all Greek and Roman money as tribute.
Next, I declare war.
Our troops land at Athens, ready to start bombarding the city next turn.
We also retake New York at the loss of one Rifleman and one Cannon. Not bad.
Finally, our from Delphi and Sparta start their march on Greek territory. With no money, our adversaries won't at least for the time being be able to upgrade their defenses.
Roman resistance is quelled in New York, and it is back under control by us. Also, apparently the majority of Roman forces is defending Antium, because if things stay as they are, Cumae will fall in a couple turns, and then I can help you out on Antium. More likely though, he will divert some defenses into Cumae, making your jobs easier.
Excellent. The defenses of Antium are way down I see. If all of those were killed off on defense by your attack stack and not diverted towards Cumae, then I think we shall roll over Caesar with ease.
In the mean time, Athens is surrounded. The peaceful inhabitants of the city should start learning English, methinks, they will need it soon.
Railroad is researched, so we can get some machine guns going.
A bunch of upgrades taking place both in Athens and Cumae. I think at this point it is all but a certainty that the Greeks and Romans are doomed. I'd say if you get the rest of the Roman empire, and I get the rest of the Greeks (including taking Boston back ), it would be a sensible disvision of forces and spoils of war.
In the mean time, I start eyeing Fred and Hatty. I guess attacking them is quite a distant possibility at the moment, but a possibility nonetheless.
