    While on CFC, I visited the ISDG 2012 forum to check on any diplo 'Story' updates.

    I noted that Calanthian has suggested to the game admin, that the turn timer be reduced as we have now moved beyond the initial stage.

    I don't object to this proposal but I don't see where this idea was discussed in our forum.

    So should we have a thread for discussion of such 'game structural' issues ? And if we are not sure if 'game structural' issues are involved at least then ok they would have been raised.

      The point I was asking for is what was intended as a two day turn around, while the turn timer now allows for 54 Real Life hours.

      It is a common 'mistake' of a game host to fill in 48 hrs, when 48 is intended. But experience learns one has to subtract about 20% to result in 48 RL hours. So now we get 54 hrs because he filled in 48..

      So I was not asking for something new, I was asking to implement what was intended.

      And yes we can make a game structural thread; please do.

        I noted a comment in another game (God & Heroes) from Ozzy about needing a break from Civ. I can well understand. So not a problem.

        I just wondered how it might impact on our team here.

          BTW I am not going into the off topic forum, but I am wondering if fewer people are playing Diplo here (more temp subs and AI), so that diplogames fold. What's left.

            I'll still be around. Most of my job as captain seemed to be assembling all you people together. Now I'm just making occasional suggestions to the turn players like the rest of you. I'll keep that up.

                Btw I and DNK have asked a couple of times for DNK to be authorised as a co-leader so as to be able to data crunch the stats.

                Is that a problem?

                And while you are at it can you authorise me in case DNK is unavailable.

                    Yeah, I am. Currently, there just aren't any stats to crunch or cities to keep tabs on, etc, as we have met no one. I know some info can be gleaned from the demographics at this point, but I'm not sure how valuable it is until we actually meet people. I think we've discussed most of what's worth discussing already based on the screen caps provided: no one has much military, we (were) #1 in pop for a bit.

                        Is there a problem here?

                        There really is minimum team participation at all levels.

                        The most obvious level is at the diplomatic level. It is very slow.

                        Second is at the response to questions level. Should we do this or that? Mostly no response from members.

                          I agree that more activity would be nice. I don't think we should discuss every diplo letter, those who are in charge in diplomacy could do it themselves. Ofc if it's a big decision: signing naps or declare wars we should put it to vote.

                              For me it would work better if we change around being turn player more often: and it sure doesn't need to be only Mz and me.

                              Although this might result in perhaps a change in performance (to the better or the worse) it does certainly help involvement of all team members..

                                My Resignation

                                Sorry guys, but I'm going to have to resign my position(s) here. I have sort of just totally lost interest in Civ in general, and I don't think I'm going to be up for the time commitment/energy required to do much. I'll send my semi-finished but unpolished spreadsheets to anyone if they want them for divining things, or at least for a base for that stuff, but I'm pretty much out. I'll throw in my 2c from time to time perhaps, but that's all for now.
