It was hard to recognize the old patriarch. His steps was confident and barely touching the floor. All this energy he would need and more, as he was leaving Moscow to be crowned as the new spiritual leader of all the Christians.

To let them rest in green meadows, to lead them beside quiet waters.

The Mongolian War

Dear Kondio of the Vikings, Suleiman the Eagle of the Turks and Queen Genevieve of the French.

I write to you out of frustration.

As you may know the war in the East drags on and despite the Neandor's diplomatic overtures for many years only now do I hear from the KKK of Mongolia that they require help.

Now, the Neandor's position is quite clear in that we do not interfere in affairs Asian and support the Mongolians and Chinese in sorting out their own situation.

But when it comes to a Western super power like Russia intervening and attacking Mongolia from the West, then actually razing a mature city I find it difficult to permit.

The Neandor has a long and cold history with Russia so I do not wish to act unilaterally but if we can all act in accord to apply 'friendly' pressure on Russia that the West dislikes its modus operandi then we may secure Mongolia from Russian bullying.

What I suggest to you is that we secure a strong international recognition that we can legitimately act to bring pressure to bear on Russia. I invite you to send your toughest armies to the Eastern border of Neandor. Such a military buildup and unanimous resolve by the West may allow us to demand the withdrawal of Russia from the war. Russia will not know if we intend to declare war on her such is the chess game of international politics.

It is highly impractical to send troops to Mongolia to bolster their defenses so I see this as the only realistic method of extricating Russia from this war.

Please respond to me openly and transparently for the world community to know and judge the situation.

War has ceased between Russia and Mongolia. The three chiefs have agreed on peace terms with Catherine and a ceasefire is now in operation with a nonagression pact for a period of 50 turns along with various other terms we have jointly agreed on. China has remained incomminacado and not responded to overtures and so war continues there, but no major threat to Mongolia at this time.

Genevieve strode purposefully through the chapel grounds. Her mind was thinking of the upcoming conversation, and Marc Renaud, walking beside her, struggled to keep up with her. Renaud was now the Head of Foreign Affairs, but he too was a bit nervous about what would transpire in the next while. They reached the religious offices and were escorted in. Cardinal Jean-Paul Vanaldi was waiting for them.



Vanaldi was the head of the Church in France. He was a devout man. Much more importantly, he was politically astute, worldly, and very bright. Genevieve had the utmost respect for the man, and his opinions.

The Cardinal watched the young Queen approaching. Very much her mother he thought. And those eyes; he pitied the poor diplomat or ambassador who had to discuss matters with her. The other nations of the world would be well advised to send women to Paris for negotiations, lest their male diplomats end up giving away their treasuries to Genevieve.



He smiled. "Welcome Queen Genevieve. It is good to see you again."

"As it is you, Your Grace. You are keeping well?"

"As well as can be expected for an old man with declining abilities, Your Highness".

"Hah. Well, Your Grace, you can drop the 'Your Highness' along with your poor attempts at humility."

They both laughed. "And you know Monsieur Marc Renaud, Head of Foreign Affairs."

"I have heard much of you young man. Congratulations on your recent appointment; well deserved."

"You are too kind, Your Grace", said Renaud.

Vanaldi, never one to waste time, started right in.." So, these recent elections, I gather that's why you are here.'

"Indeed Your Grace", replied Genevieve. "I am trying not to be frustrated, but why did we waste our efforts building the Palace in the first place? I know my mother's views on the benefits of building it, but right now I am having a difficult time trying to understand them."

Vanaldi thought this was another reason he admired this young ruler; she spoke from her heart.

She went on. "The damnanglais - pardon the expression - voted for Catherine. As did the Vikings, the usurper in Israel, and even the Mali for heaven's sake. Here is Russia, one of the largest nations of the world, attacking in support of some nation called China who clearly did not need their support in the first place, the poor nation of Mongolia. They raze a city and kill its people. And the so-called 'Christian' nations of the world condone them by voting for them. Your Grace, I appreciate that I am new to ruling a nation, and still naive in some respects, but can you explain these events. I am at a loss."

"Your confusion is understandable. Even I was taken aback by the English vote. Let's start there, shall we. "

They spoke for the next two hours. When Genevieve left she still had a sense of frustration, but a much better understanding of the intertwined nature of religion and politics, from someone who knew it all too well. She could commit to the 'longer-term', and 'improved diplomacy'. She could wait for the 'next vote'. But she would remember this one well.

As they walked across the well-manicured lawn, a thought struck here. "Marc. I forgot to ask. Have the troops been recalled?"

"Yes, Ma'am. They have. The fleet was half-way across the Mediterranean. And several regiments were well into Neandor. They will be upset about turning around."

"No doubt. I would be too if I was a soldier of France. Perhaps they will encounter this Russian "Pope" that is headed our way. Then again, maybe it would be best if they didn't."

She smiled at Renaud, who blushed deeply, partly because of what the Queen had just suggested, but more because he always blushed when she smiled at him.

The world seems to be in turmoil with some kind of Christian religion. What does it do for them. Nothing. Now look at Mongolia. We killed 8 Christian soldiers for the loss of one of our own non religious soldiers. China is a Bhuddist nation. It does not help China. Our non religious soldiers just despatched another 2 of their Bhuddist soldiers along with the previous 3 with no losses of our own. Our war shows that religion is unnecessary and the turmoil in the Christian world shows that it only causes division. The KKK (3 chiefs) of Mongolia recommend to the world that they abandon religion and unite behind their chiefs. It is the way to Victory.

Israel continues to condemn all christian activities.
We do not support the Apostolic Palace in Moscow.
The christian faith is a heresy. A blasphemy to the G'd Most High.

Once again we call upon all nations to reject this corruption of Judaism.
The support to the Russian candidate for the Apostolic Palace came not from the Israelian Judges.
But a group who claim to represent the christian community in Israel has voted in favor of Catherine.

This is a lie. There are hardly any christians in Israel.
All true Jews would never follow the teachings of this Paul of Tarsus.
And we have many witnesses who can testify that this Yeshua of Nazareth died on the cross near Jerusalem (now named "Damascus"), killed by the Turks who occupy the holy city.

We do support this execution of this rebel because Yeshua of Nazareth was trying to overtrow the Turks possesion of Jerusalem. We do not seek revolts but wait for the coming of the (true!) Messiach who will bring peace to earth.
Till then we do respect the Turkish occupation of the Holy Land.
We do not support their claim to be G'ds people though. Which is a heresy in itself.

Suleiman the Eagle read the report of King Franzen's concerns about the Mongolian situation.

He raised an eye to silently question his vizar. He nodded, "it is already done Sultan".

The Eagle smiled. It was good that even those who weren't as far seeing as the Eagle were also acting to help the Mongols.

King Franzen slips into a canal in Venetii

The death of King Franzen was a shock to some. Old King Franzen I of the Neandor Line lay in the grand canal of Venetii having slipped, grasping his stomach... the water did the rest.

He had been on his way to meet a special person who had discovered something wonderful but the last face he saw was that of son of Snarg. Was this treachury?

This strange set of incongruous circumstances heralded a great golden age for the Neandor Line. A power vacuum was swiftly filled when the old Snarg greeted his son at the Hanging Garden where large crowds had gathered.

Son of Snarg, or Snarg II, was immediately crowned in a makeshift public manner that gave little time for any other opportunists.

Finally the first Neandertal King took office.

Venetii, Grunzen City along with Sardon represented the populations of Neandor who had mostly been bred from a dominant mix of French ancestry. However from the Neandor capital to Arctica in the far North some of the Neandertal ancestry prevailed, although not full blood there were distinctive and obvious signs of racial backgrounds. Of course the Northern Neandor looked nothing like the legendary Grunzen but were 'ugly' enough for Queen Genevieve of France to procrastinate any visits or dialogs with Snarg II.

Of course one dialog had already occured as Snarg II was a miltary man and France was seen as the only secure border for the Neandor Kingdom. The foolish Franzen had played diplomacy and politics with other nations to the point that all other borders with the Neandors were less secure now.

Still Snarg II worked hard throughout this golden era to embark on a rapid religious revolution to permit highly productive poluations achieve great ends - temples, monastries and other important buildings of any religious bureacracy.

Snarg II and man y of ther Norhern Neandor Line were not Christians or religious in any way - they saw this revolution as a means to an end. It was a way of manipulating happy people but slavery was still to be used to achieve these ends. It was a proce that such unhappiness from Slavery would be far counter weighted by Christian fervour and commitment.

Neandor was now a solid Monarchy with a long established Civil Service in Neandor City and now an Organized Religion. Slavery had been banned in the capital for eons now resulting in it being the most populace city in the world. The tiny Neandor Kingdom struggled with land issues and Snarg II was developing several plans to deal with this.

On the one hand he was a military muscle man but on the other was adept at playing the game of international diplomacy. He will make mistakes of course but it remains to be seen what will become of his Kingdom as Europe buckles under the pressure of populations and varying cultures.

Although the appeal of the Neandor king to the world to put pressure on resolving of the Mongolia case was spectacular and touching, to the more experienced and perceptive international observers it was clear that the quick resolving of this crisis was a victory for the Russian diplomacy, instead of the Neandor saber-rattling.





After the war with the pagan Mongols (or Tatars as they were known by the Russians) have ended, the slain heroes were mourned with all the honor they deserved.


Left behind the war and the danger, the Slavs with the wide souls were yearning for a better times to come. Under the wise and just rule of Queen Catherine, the empire was flourishing with wealth and science.




There were so much scientist across the county, which were working hard on science, that a Great Scientist emerged.


His appearance inspired the nation to get in to a Golden Age, where all the commerce and production were boosted.

Catherine wanted to change the way Russia was governed and ordered her wise man and women to find a way to manage her thriving empire more efficiently. A lot of technologies have to be discovered soon.

Russia being one of the oldest Christian kingdoms of the world, and recognized as the most pious Christian leader, Catherine promised to herself and to Jesus Christ to continue the efforts of spreading Christianity.





Looking from the the height of the Imperial palace in Moscow, the sky and the future looked bright now. Only the sudden and mysterious death of King Franzen put a small wrinkle on Catherine's nobble brow.

They can plead they acted correct back then and that Russians are blacker than the Devil himself, but the outcome from the Neandor actions was resigning of the Gaul leader, long anarchy and switching of dynasties putting a regent on the Gaul throne, when the outcome of the Russian acts in honoring our given word, was heavy military losses on our side and a mutual advantageous peace with Mongolia. This left Mongolia in position to conduct their war with China the best possible way they want.

It was late at night. The stars at the Russian sky were twinkling incessantly. Catherine was restless this night too. The sleep was running away. She have spent the whole day praying for the soul of her dead cousin King Franzen of Neandor, but the prayers did not gave her answers nor ease of mind.
