It took you a full hour to log back in under the new name. Covering your tracks nicely there.

(then again, maybe it was me........ )

Don't want to open up the problem if it has been solved, but Russia did ask in what way I thought diplo-spirit was being broken, and I think its fair I answer.

We all agree no rule has been broken, which is why I referred to spirit not rule.

For me the point is that nations which are doing less well need to have the opportunity to better themselves, including throught war. Mongolia is brave in attacking its stonger neighbour - it may also be foolish, or it may not be. I've got nothing against China winning. But Mongolia ought to have the chance to better itself through war. Otherwise, what is the future for it? To be the little friend of others for the rest of the game. The immediate entry of others on China's side seems to prevent Mongolia even having a chance. So for me, and I think we have seen this work in other games, when a smaller nation tries its hand, I think its good form for the alliances which have formed betweeen bigger powers to find some reason not to be invoked.

But - I don't know the situation on the ground - just reacting to the appearance, and in my experience things that do raise eyebrows tend to then be smoothed out really well, and I'm sure that will happen in this case. I just think its really important that smaller nations are able to have realistic options to better themselves, otherwise the many months the game lasts for becomes difficult for them. We saw this in DoC when arabia invaded greece (both small). We nearly found arabia simplly being squashed by far larger powers, but rightly this was pulled back from and arabia was allowed to gain from its carefully planned war.
