I am complaining and shouting only IC, I know that a good player must not complain about the course of the game and accept the possibility to lose someway, somehow. I know this is just a game and I am playing it. This is how I imagine the mighty Russia would react as a world power and this is what my Just Catherine would act. If you feel that I am banging the drum or I am frustrated, this means I am playing the diplomacy and role-playing well

BTW, kudos to England for not calling for a Measured War violation and continuing to play the game as a man, as there is simply a rule violation. I would do the same myself and I am doing the same now, by trying to make what I think is right with only in-game measures.

Only thing is bothering me OOC is that the game is perverting in a regular MP pitboss. None of the aggressors actually made some story why they attack, what they want, neither they stated their vision about the possible and acceptable peace. Some dialog, discussion maybe... Just OOC bandy words. If we were going to play it this way, and the sheer land, military power and teaming-up is the measure for success and rightness, I guess I was going to be quite more stronger at this point

While talking about Diplos and stories, Neandor, you, as the main critique for Russia's intervention in the Mongol-Chinese war and worrying about the lost diplo-spirit, what is your opinion on the Vikings never actually posted a single story post in the whole game?

You are right that everyone have his own judgement, and mine is this that

    1. I must honor my agreement with England, by helping them fight their aggressors

    and

    2. A major world power is crippled in a well planned conspiracy, so I cannot just wave away with hand and don't bother about it. If now we let this pass, no one will be safe from now on. If a mighty nation as the English can do nothing about defending their homes, what about a smaller nations? Of course they will support the one, who is trying to give the world some security

In fact, if we look in pure game terms, I am far better now, being at number one, and one of my direct competitors - England - being hopelessly crippled. Also I was going to be far better with keeping my warm relations with France and the Vikings as your trio is the strong of the day and we even were going to be the "Magnificient Four" who can dictate our will to the whole world. Alas, this is how I feel and this is the situation

And last, I agree with you, that we all have to accept each others judgment, so please, accept mine.

    [/OOC]
It is more the Inca who are arguing the fair play line in this OOC thread I guess, not so much Russia and the DA did kick start the discussion, although I do agree the DA are being pretty good about it all.

There has not been a rule violation unless it is ruled on. I do agree on solving the issues IG.

The game is far from being a regular game

I think it poor form to raze mature cities regarding your actions in Mongolia but that's my judgement; and I accept that your judgement is different

Note that the Vikings are VERY active behind the scenes with PM's - as are many other non-posting civs. It's not against the rules to not post, it just effects the voting and so it is their choice and, dare I say, judgement

The amazing thing is that all your (plural) conspiracy theories about our alliance are totally wrong and it is the actions of many nations that has caused the alliance to become more solid - through necessity as France pointed out.
The question of whether modern humans and Neanderthals mated when they encountered each other 40,000 years ago is highly controversial.

    • Come on, Neandor and France are close as a butt and pants for mileniums already. You can claim it is not the case - thats your right, but dont expect anyone to believe you, behind the scenes this is well - known fact and beyond any doubt for I may say all the interested nations.

The Vikings are playing on their own behalf and I guess they are aligned with you out of necessity. There is one sure thing - they came to us asking for protection from you. I guess they are using you to keep their back, and you are doing it gladly if the alternative was you to face the Viking's rifles. Which is absolutely ok.

I guess we can play the game either way, but you are setting a nasty trend of mixing the things - first you agreed that London must not be captured, then when your buddies the French took it, you said to me that you still believe London have to be returned, but you have to consult with the French and then magically your belief that London must remain under French control is absolutely firm, because the French put a lot of efforts and losses in capturing it and because the English and the French had historical disagreements and because this is the reality - London is in French hands and England is not in position to take it back with force.

I wonder what you would tell if somehow England regains her power and captures Paris and wants to keep it because of

the English and the French had historical disagreements and because this is the reality
Will you still follow your logic or change your point of view?

      • If Veneta toyed with the idea of London being returned and was an ig conversation then it is IG!

You are using IC info OOC. Please argue this IC.

I've just quickly looked over the recent posts and all mine are genuine OOC posts but it is you who are nastily mixing things up between IC and OOC.

And of course France and Neander have been close for long, that is true; BUT it was also true of the Ottoman Turks and Neander but that has changed only recently.

        • Yes, your posts can be purely OOC, but your claims IC and OOC are contradictional. I am reffering to your oppinion about London. This I am reffering to as a mixing.

Also, you have the habit of claiming both IC and OOC many times being friends with someone and then these nations to come and seek protection from you, you arch-evil \

No need - you said it twice OOC, but I will make an IC story too

            he he

I think we agree then... I say one thing IC and another OOC!

            Isn't that what it's about?

            IC London is spoken for.
OOC I don't like capitals being taken and kept. End of!

                  • Maybe Russia should have waited for the Vikings to take their turn and not double move.

                    • I would not take any advantage by double moving. As I have no units who can come in touch with your units, I decided to go on and play my turn. I was with the impression, that we agreed on the "block" timer and with this move it is restored - England, Russia and Ottomans play in the first half of the timer and Vikings, France (Neandor???) in the second half.

Last week I was at vacation, so it was ok for me to play at any time, but now I am back at work and either I play early in the begining of the timer, or I have to play nearly 5 hours before the end of the timer leaving small amount of time for France to play.

We did not agree to the blocks (very anti-diplo idea) - we only discussed it dear Catherine the sexy

It is vaguely possible that your Frigate/Galleon stack could have been chased down btw so this makes turn order good form during war time.

I've been extremely careful about gifting any units to France or the Vikings so that they can only use them in the correct turn order, ie I play AFTER Vikings (so any units gifted they play the next turn); and BEFORE FRANCE who plays AFTER DA and RUSSIA.

It's not rocket science, more military science

                          • Just for the protocol, Russia skipped its fleet's movement 1 turn for this reason, so if you were able to chase it, my earlier movement did not interfere with this. (if you are uncertain of this, you can count the tiles and the turns manually )

I do play in a good faith and expect the others do the same, so I will be OK with any turn order that will suit us all. Have in mind that I am unable to play from 6 AM to 6 PM GMT and in the original turn order France had to play after me. If no satisfactory solution for all the involved parties about the turn order can be found, after we all state our preferences (rocket or military scientists, anyone? ) then the host to state the order and/or ensure pauses so every one have his time to play his turn.

                            Cheers Toni

I see them quite fine. Perhaps it is some sort of south of the equator interference.
