@RP .. two questions ...

1. Any thoughts as to the pitboss 'down time' over Christmas?

2. Can we perhaps combine December and January into one voting and scoring period? I suspect a lot of folks, like myself, have been busy over the last few weeks.

Combining those months isn't at all fair to those who actually did put in the effort this month. They shouldn't be penalized because others were busy.

I am ok with some pitboss downtime though, I'll be leaving for a week of vacation starting tomorrow morning. I'll bring my laptop with me, but I have no idea how or whether Internet will work where I'm at.

I agree with England. There has been plenty of time in the first part of the month to write story / get involved indiplomacy to cover up for the 2nd half. I think we should just vote for December as it is.

I will be absent for about 4 days beginning in 18 hours time, it would be good if game can be either extended to max turn length or paused. I have been asked by another player if I could sub for them for 5 days. I responded no as I will be away myself, so another reason to lengthen turns or pause the game.

I am available full time for civ and am as sad a case as RP, unless of course we are one and the same.

Maybe the best compromise is a 24 hour timer from Xmas Day till New Year?

If someone starts a war in that time then RP could respond accordingly.

One can always ask someone to sub or queue things up.

I could play normally over Xmas, though new year is a bit more tricky. But moving to 24 hours seems like a fair compromise.

Can we have the longer period from 2/425th Dec to 2/3rd Jan?

And voting should still happen by month. Dec is proving very quiet, but the supreme Damnanglais - dominant in score and postings - shouldn't be penalised by not getting full credit. Lets just hope those Native Americans sort them out - eliminate them on the beaches or they will destroy you. Just look at history!
