I was actually surprised to see the game still running, even after the in-game victory condition was met and out or boredom and to find some use of the enormous military I have gathered declared war to England, who was the closest serious opponent. I hope you will not get that too personal, England. Also, I would like if Robert turns to AIs all who did not logged in since 15 turns and dont object here

And, I wouldn't have done this normally in the regular DoE game, but given that it's basically finished, well, I have all these nukes just sitting around and I need to get some use out of this stockpile, and Rus was my closest serious opponent given that ICBMs have unlimited range. I'm glad you guys made the first move, though.

Agree with switching to AI and can we take the turns up to 18hr if they aren't already?

Naah - if I wanted to fight you guys, I wouldnt miss the last 50 turns

I wanted the game to continue, but not with that fast timer and the bulk of the nations staying inactive - I asked Robert to put them as AIs but I guess the request got lost. The only thing that made me go in to the game was someone told me that the English army is approaching Russia. When I got in to the game and saw how the once proud Neandor nation with their feared army just stays as in the butchery waiting to be killed methodically by the English. This reminded me of how the last game here at Apolyton ended - Game2 - where a Polish guy named Paragraf started to stall the game with pauses when he saw their block is helpless against me, until no one else wanted to continue and when no one was loging in to the game anymore and we called it, then he started to sneak in the game and spent the next 2 months killing my nation while I was not playing just because she was still running on the host

I loved DOE and my Russia too much to let this happen again - to be butchered I want the game just to be over. Have no time with this short timer, nor the stimulus to revive it again Nor I have intention pissing you off by beating you two up even after 50 missed turns and taking dozen nukes

I was looking forward to seeing how my defensive net would hold up against a human opponent. Never had the chance to test a late-game defense net before in MP. Not sure when the next time will be either. Such a loss of experience.

Yeah, it would have been nice this game to have its grande finale, but we should have planned for it - turning non-actives to AIs, not making the timer so short that we miss so many turns, maybe setting the goal a bit earlier - who vs who will be the fight... If others agree, we can ask Robert to give us a save from about the end of the normal game (actually we have saves from the time when the Axis quit/surrender after the sinking of their fleet at Berlin port). Then the interested players ( I see England, Inca, Turkey, Japan, Mali and Mongolia logged in the last few months and I am not sure all of them will be interested in this big clash...) - those are 4-5-6 players - we can arrange MP sessions, where all the interested people will be online and ask Robert to reload this save in the pitboss and then we can play it like ordinary MP game, which can be finished in few sessions each 2-3 hours long.

This way we can have the late- game experience we all will enjoy I think (some of you at least in the beginning )

No, seriously - I was speaking with a long-time apolytoneer lately, and he said to me that these few hours sessions of online civ4 MP were quite often in the near past. Why we dont make it anymore?

Yeah, I'm definitely down for that, although I really wasn't prepared at that time to deal with such a struggle.

Guess that kills this game for me. Sorry to nuke and run, Otts, but you can have my empire to yourself now. I won't switch to AI, as that would be quite disastrous, so you can just take it apart or ignore it at will. I'm out of this one finally for good.
