You must surely have seen by her actions that she stands alone and neutral.

What you read was a simple appeal to Rome to offer more generous terms to end this war.

What you also read was that Sumeria could not allow this war on her borders to continue forever without acting. You should re-read the proclamation and note that it does not specify how we would act as whilst Egypt is 100% in the wrong and can expect to pay heavily for her crimes the terms offered were too harsh.

The only direct 'Threat' made was over the southern colonies. These do affect Sumeria directly and they will be destroyed or occupied rather than fall into anyone else's hands as part of a peace deal. It was only a gentle warning that if they were on the table they should be removed or they would have long since disappeared before the ink had dried upon the paper.

I'm glad to hear that Rome owes you nothing, yet I'm serious that if I pay you should pay too. Since Rome took those techs from me I was able to see into their cities and, yes, He did a lot to defend you. that's why I'm insisting that all of us should pay the reparation. After Rome I have lost the most and I will pay the most,-I know I have started the war the most- but I have not lost it yet. This offer is a sign from me that I want this conflict ended, with the best possible way of reserving the balance of powers.
I will let the final word be said by Rome, if They accept then I will pay 500 gold/turn for 4 turns to them, and retreat my forces from New Russia. The non aggression pact will go live as soon as all of us agreed on the terms.

Terms have been agreed Egypt, our aid to Rome is only known to them and Byzantium. Russia has offered Rome to fully commit to their rebuild. Rome stood with her friends in time of need. So do not worry about our contribution to rising up Rome strong again, it will be done.

You are right Egypt, you did caught me off guard on that coastal city, good that I foresaw such an attack and had defense. Of course your army is strong and I salute you for bringing such an army so far away. Well Done! Still you know that in 2 turns I will have infantry myself and you will be stopped and the city recaptured. Thus ending your campaign there.

Now as to the ceasefire this should be implemented right away. I hope and expect that you will lift your siage of that city and withdraw, agreed? I will start moving back my armies and put a stop to any military action.

OCC - how can i be away for 12 hours and miss so much!

(Regarding the sub issue - its hard both ways. Of course america will want its close ally to sub for it. But it is true that in a war you at least want to feel you have chance of exploiting confusion between allies etc. I think the problem is suddenly realising one opponent is controlling two nations - even if it didn't matter is not welcome to hear it. Good that in DoE we have made a rule that a nation being subbed for must change their name to indicate it. That way nobody has any rude surprises.)
