  • Lord of the desert,

THE ALLIANCE will not pillage your lands, unless it gives us strategical advantages. We will not ruin countrysides or economic settlements outside your cities.

Regarding a possible end to this conflict, we will not discuss any peace terms before the city of Mediolanum has been returned to Rome. You can return the city to us by gifting it to a 3rd party who then hands it over to Rome.

After this term has been met we can start to discuss a possible end of this war. Prepare yourself for tough but negotiable conditions. We will not let the world suffer under Egyptian expansionistic tyranny again.

    • the city of Mediolanum
Ah, I remember in Beyond the Pit, the war with Russia over Mediolanum which brought Persia too its knees and humbled Greece. All on the basis of a completely ficitonal retelling of history. Completely irrelevant to this situation of course.

      • I'm glad you are willing to talk,

We will gladly give back the city of Mediolanum, but it has to be done in the terms of the peace treaty. How could we know that we give up our positions then you ask for our most holy city.. or all of our cities in that matter..

        About our expansionist tyranny..

What are the Romans talking about??

        They attacked us two times..
They never gave us terms like us. We only asked for 10 obsolete units they came without a word, only to destroy us...
After we drove them back we did not make any serious demands (we asked for some surplus resource) That 10 catapults would had been the reparation price.. So remember this when you are making those "though" conditions.
And finally I won't take the blame for some obvious translation error.. we? world domination? come on.. we were talking about turning the world "'s attention" to our desert. full of sandy beaches..tourism you see..

        • Lord,

If you want to negotiate peace, then return the city of Mediolanum to me via a 3rd party right now. You have 9 hours. If you will not do so, then we see no other option then just take it by force and continue our war against you without negotiating peace on friendly terms with you.

Returning Mediolanum will be received as a sign from us that you have the full intention to settle this war. The city itself is practically already in our hands anyway. Or do you believe that the gods will protect your 4 pitty armies against our 150 armies?

          • Sorry but I find it very suspicious that you are not giving me terms. Especially after you said that you wouldn't fight as a gentleman so this looks more like a trick.. either that or you are afraid to tell me those friendly terms. In any case it's not fair. I don't want to give up my fortified position there if -after hearing your terms I wouldn't have other choice, but to continue the fight.

That 160 troops army you gathered (and it seems you are still waiting for more..) is really impressive... but my army of 50 seasoned soldiers still would be a hard nut to crack...still pure mathematics suggests that in the end probably you would have some left over..

Since (seemingly) you have the upper hand you should tell me what do you want to accomplish with the war-I always tell my terms when I belive I'm the stronger-, but anyway here is my suggestion:
I offer you 3 cities, one is Mediolanum and the two other are my choice. Naturaly I want some guaranties that you won't attack me again as soon as you can. (peace for at least 50 turns)

I belive you are too greedy to accept this, and I might not be avaible to read your answer before you move so if you wish just continue your campaign. I have told my 4 defending armies that I don't expect them to kill all my 150 enemies, 50 will be enough. (You are right of course that you can take Mediolanum by force anyway, but it's not the same as handing it over: spare the buildings, the population, and the troops which inevitably would die during the siege...)

            • Lord,

              Mediolanum has just fallen.
Only 12 armies died in the process. My spies were able to steal Steel and Steam Power in the process.
This means that my armies will be even more advanced very soon.

You offer to hand over 3 of your cities. This offer is accepted.
Turn over Alexandria, Heliopolis and Memphis for immediate peace.
If not then we will aim for Memphis immediately.

8 Turns without playing now, I think, so have they given up?

                    • Desertlord,

You get 6 hours to respond to my peace proposal.
And I will be plain with you, Memphis is in the proposal so that there's something for you to negotiate about.
In 6 hours I will be able to command my troops and the troops of my allies again.

I also have changed my mind about pillaging.
If you are not willing to pay for your destructions in Mediolanum, like Rome has paid Egypt for many millenia for our faults in the past, then we will suck the money out of your citizen.

                      • Augustus,

Memphis is the holy city of our religion, the door to our capital, even talking about handing it over is absurd... but you know this aswell as you are not really seeking peace anymore.
You say Rome has paid to Egypt for a millenia for her faults.. The pay was a sheep and a gem resource for 50 turns. Egypt would gadly pay a similar price. Anyway these talks lead nowhere. Egypt would pay, but maximum yields colonial cities, never from the continent.

Here is something important though: I asked you to fight honorably and sign a non-razing, non-pillaging treaty which you did.. And see how much your words worth..you just "change your mind about it". Your allies don't talk to me.. seems they invested their power in you and you talk in their name. This means that Egypt can't expect mercy and we won't ask for it.

Egypt now enters into the state of total war.
Unless you guarantee before our next move that the non-pillaging-non-razing agreement is in place we will destroy everything in our path...yes, including cities and it will be because of your dishonest behaviour.

                        • Lord,

We have paid gems and sheep till your spiritual leaders decided to close our borders, about 10 years ago.
The damage Rome had done upon Egypt was minimal compared to what Egypt did to Rome.

As I said, my offer was open for negotiation, you even fail to make a counter offer.
The hours are ticking away and I take this as a 'no'.
It is not my goal to ruin your countryside, but if that's what it needs to bring you down to your knees, then that's what we will do.
We have over 150 units. Egypt will be a true desert again when we're done.

4 hours till I am ready to lead my armies again.
I hope that you will find your senses again and make a solid counter offer. If the offer is not interesting we will reject it.
Making an acceptable counter offer now is your last chance.

                          • What did Egypt do to Rome? We demanded 10 catapults and offered a 100 turns guaranteed peace for it. The rest was your doing. You even allowed us to take Mediolanum so you could cheaply steal techs from us (Thats why you moved out your entire army).

anyway: here is a counter offer: Egypt pays 2000 gold and offers 2 colonial cities of our choice (not our best ones.. you can expect). Or we can pay 3000 gold.

                            Desertlord

PS And I'm serious that I will ruin your land if you won't agree you spare mine, I hope at least your allies can talk you out of your madness.

                              • Desertlord.

Take care in your negotiations in the current year. As Gondor has expressed in a private communication with you we will only make peace with Egypt if you make peace with Russia first and THE ALLIANCE agrees.

There are many forces at work in this world and there is much dislike of your deserts so make the right decision and save your people.
