  • Russian accomplishments in the early Renaissance

Following the establishment of the Institute for Comparative Social Sciences in Moscow by Fyodor Karamazov, Field Marshal Dmitry Karamazov established a Military Academy in the same city. As the number of military minds gathered in Moscow, the city became infused with an interest in Russia's military history, specifically the Russo-Persic wars of the Dominikan royal family in early medieval times. It was during this time that Piotr Ilich Tchaikovski, a young officer composed a musical piece entitled "Courage of the Unyielding". Describing the Russo-Persic war in poetic terms, from the initial victories in Persian lands, followed by the cat-and-mouse withdrawal to Hastograd and ending in the final climactic battle where Russia's great army was ultimately defeated, the piece quickly became immensely popular and sparked a nationalistic surge. The defeat became a source of pride, illustrating the determinedness and courage of the Russian people.

When played first in the open by the Moscow Military Academy, the coinciding of testing of Cannons in a nearby compound, inspired Tchaikovskij to add Cannonfire to the musical piece. The forceful music was compounded and became truly extravagant by the explosions, celebrating Russia's pride and strength. It was said that it moved Prince Igor to tears when he first heard it. The Heroic Epic as it was called by some, spurred even greater interests in military matters. Moscow now produced the most experienced soldiers in the world at an astounding rate. A fact that would turn out to be greatly influential in the war against Ottoman.

"Good" he said to himself "Korea and England have followed our lead in agreeing to not intervene in the Russia-Ottoman war". He turned to his aide "Have we heard yet a private response from the Guru or King Kane?"

"Not yet sire, but the messenger ships have hardly hit the ice ocean yet. Give them time."

"And our friend Saladin of Arabia?"

"There seems some confusion as to his whereabouts my lord, but messengers have been sent. He will reply soon, and positively I am sure, as he always does."

        • Fat Guru doesn't care about Hairy war

Beli'Az, Guru of Media, was informed about the war between the Hairy Russians and the Hairy Ottomans.

"Are the Hairy battling the Hairy?" Beli'Az spoke.
          "That's GOOD news! BUwhahahaha"

          "What's our position, Fat One?"
"Our position? Our position is that we don't care. Let the Hairy finish the Hairy. But as soon as non-Hastogianists will get involved, we will get involved. A hairy hastogianist is always better then a non-hastogianist! BUWhahahaha"

          • King Achmal does care

Achmal, sitting in his palace in New Moscow, read the letter that informed him about the war between Russia and the Ottomans.

            He shook his head.
"We are closely related to the Russians. The largest minority here in New Russian Persia consists of Russian refugees." he whispered.
"But then again, the Ottomans have always been our allies. They supported us when the Russians invaded us. Which led to the existence of New Russian Persia after all."

"So what do we do?" a secretary asked.
"I will try to negotiate with both nations. Both are close to us. Please send them a letter"

Then Achmal started to dictate a letter to both Prince Igor of Russia, and Selim of the Ottmans:

Prince Igor of Russia and Selim of the Ottomans,

It bothers me that both nations that are that close to us are at war together. Is there not a solution that can bring peace without wasting any more blood?
            Give peace a chance.

I ask you to send me in private a list of your demands for peace.
I will then try to negotiate between the both of you.
Make the first list as bold as you want.
But be also prepared to compromise later.

King Achmal of New Russian Persia

            • Thw wars erupting throughout the land were very disturbing to Sum Dak. Day after day, he met with his advisers to discuss the state of foreign affairs. Tao brothers were being attacked right next door. Thankfully the senseless violence was stopped before it got started. How could one Tao brother attack another. It made no sense.

Now the Russians had a massive brain freeze from all their days in the tundra and attacked the Ottomans. I guess the cold does effect the brain after some time. We now fear for the citizens of Maligypt, nestled into the tundra on the northern isle.

The current war the Russians were leading were of no interest to Sum Dak as they were not Tao brothers and it was on the other side of the world, however, forces were put on alert should a friend of the Russians bring the battles closer to home.

What was of more importance was the sudden communications from Persia.

Persia's leader has demanded we give them 100 gold in the name of Hastog, reported the financial adviser.

Sum Dak was puzzled with this news. Why should Persia demand money from us. What are we to receive from this?

We don't know as nothing was specified. When asked, the answers were mysterious and cryptic saying that people that gave gold were typically well rewarded.

As a Tao leader, I will not pay tribute to Hastog. If the Persian leaders want to specify an exchange of gold for something specific, we will consider it.

              • ***Notice***

The war to the south is a war between Russia and the Ottomans ONLY. Any nation interfering by sending troops to aid either side will be forcing Britannia to declare war on them. It is the hope of the Great Prophet Kane that the situation is ended quickly before more innocent citizens are killed.

                Peace through power!

                  • Protection of Russian rear front secured

The union between Arabain and Ottoman royal houses put Prince Igor in a particularily tense situation. On the one hand the Arabians had little armed forces to be a threat, but they did have the capacity to put 40,000 soldiers on Russian territory within a single turn as the border between land and sea intersected in a very small peninsula where Arabian fishermen were allowed to land and repair their vessels. Now at war with their ally, Russia could face an army at fishermans cove. Rather than risk it, the Russian navy sailed into those waters on patrol duty, to ensure that no military vessels sail near Russian lands.

                    A public declaration was made:

As you did not respond to our letter we cannot afford to wait for a possible attack.

We have therefore placed our ships in a position that will allow them to protect Russia's coast. Note that these ships
have NOT begun a blockade of civilian traffic, they
have NOT bombarded Baghdad which is a nearby city, they
have NOT fired a single shot and
will NOT do so, unless Arabia fires first.

If you wish to sign a peace agreement with us immediately, we would be prepared to do so. We have enacted this fleet patrol in your seas ONLY to ensure our own coastlands. If you do not wish to be involved in this war, we will be willing to immediately sign a peace treaty with you, no demands made.

We have no quarrel with you, but we must secure the safety of our homelands. We hope you are as us, interested in peace.

                    • Media's "Pay!" Tour Anno 1360

In the ancient Persia tradition, Guru Beli'Az launched a new "Pay!" tour for the Median Empire. Messengers were sent to a random number of nations with the simple "Pay!" message to the leaders. Except for the Greek, none of the nation's leaders were willing to make a payment. None of them were insulted enough though to kill the messenger. Only the Mali leader questioned the reasons behind this simple request.

The Greek ruler, Voula the Blast, returned the "Pay!" question by donating 1 gold to the Median empire. This gold was accepted. It secured the friendly relations between Greece and Media.
                      Media outraged

Beli'Az was angered a lot by this arrogant denial by these random nations. Without a word most nations refused to even give a dime. Instead of showing respect and friendship to the Medians, they insulted Beli'Az.

The Persian fleet sailed out of the Mediterranean into the oceans. 3 galleons, 2 east indianmen, 5 frigates and 2 ships of the line.
The ships filled with grenadiers and canons.

An expedition of wrath to those nations who refused to show proper respect to the Medians. An expedition of wrath to make those pay who did not want to pay.
The only order Beli'Az gave to the captain was: "Do not hit the Mali. They at least had the decency to answer us". It was in the hands of the captain to pick the first target.

A separate messenger was sent to the Greek to give them 50 gold to show respect and answer their friendship and honour.

                      • The Mali would like to invite everyone to experience the cultural side of Mali. A new art gallery, called the Hermitage has been created to house all of the sculpture and paintings created since the Mali trekked over the mountains so many years ago. Admission is free although donations are welcome.

The open border policy would need to be adjusted.

All persian shipping was now disallowed from korean waters and we call on out alllies to inform us of any persian ships movments.
