  • The Lost Prince

For decades the traders of Fyodor and the soldiers of Dmitri had sought the heir of Dominika. A long time had passed since their near involuntary takeover of Russian affairs, and they had both become old men. Not only did they have no children they considered worthy to take over their affairs, but they knew that they people did not love them. It was then with great joy that a message arrived at the Moscow palace saying that a definitive sign of the lost Royalty had been found. The infant boy, Konya had been taken aboard a Britannian ship, The Phoenix, nearly a century ago, by the last remaining Russian Knight, Mikhail. This was common knowledge. What happened after was a mystery.

However, the mystery had finally begun to unravel. In a shady drinking house, a Russian sailor spoke to an old Britannian who claimed that his father had sailed on the Phoenix and told him the story: that though they had headed for New Russia, the Knight Mikhail and Captain Kirk of the Phoenix feared that the Persians would destroy the child and the line of Catherine forever. Instead, Kirk had set sail for the tropical southern islands in the west. Nothing more was known.

Russian ships now begun scouring the southern tropical islands and in the year 1340, a small settlement of civilized people was found, a people greatly different from the other savage natives that lived on nearby islands. The Samoarus as they defined themselves were fairskinned, with noble features and many had green eyes and red hair. Speaking to the natives, who spoke a strange dialect of Russian, it quickly became apparent what had transpired. The strength of Russian royalty had made a profound impact on the previously savage people. Captain Kirk of the Phoenix had deposited them on a remote island and promised to return and bring them back to Russia when it was safe. As the months became years, Mikhail realized that something had happened, and indeed discovered later, according to Britannian ship records, Captain Kirk of the Phoenix had fallen into a maelstrom during a battle against his nemesis, the nefarious pirate Khan. With the Captain missing, and the Phoenix taking severe damage, she was scuttled upon return to Britannia.

    The Russian Prince was forgotten.

      • The time in exile

Making themselves a home upon the tropical island paradise, the boy grew to become a strong young man, under the harsh tutelage of the old Knight. The principles of Russian vassalage and feudalism was sternly taught and the ways of combat even more firmly imposed. A few years after their settling, living hard subsistence lives, Mikhail and Konya encountered a group of natives living on a nearby island. The skills of Mikhail made him a valued member of the native community as they lay in constant conflict with other tribes of savages. Teaching the Russian ways to the savages became the life mission of the old Knight. He taught reading and writing and Russian to the children of the village, he taught them how to make good bows and shoot with them, to forge swords and wield them, he taught them stories and poetry and songs. When the village chief and much of his family perished in a raid by an enemy village, Mikhail took it upon himself to become the new master of the savages. His wisdom and skills were greatly appreciated and all hailed him as great chief. As chief, Mikhail took several wives and fathered many children.

The raids by other savages continued as the Russian ways inspired great fear in them, and in a punitive expedition Mikhail was wounded and perished. Konya had grown to adulthood and now became chief of the village. Under his brilliant leadership the natives took a new name, the Samoarus and began to exterminate and subjugate the nearby savages. Konya took many wives and had many children. The values of Russia survived and prospered in this small format. The harsh subsistence way of life and endemic warfare shaped the people to be like the Russians at home, fierce, strong, courageous.

When Russian ships finally arrived, Konya himself was a venerable old man, ruling a few thousand Samoarus, many of them descendants of Mikhail and his own children. Meeting Russians from the motherland greatly moved Konya, and it moved him even more to hear of the desperation and plight of his people. Too old to return home, he chose his finest grandson, the 22 year old Igor, to return with the ships and reestablish the Russian dynasty in Mother Russia.

          • Return of the Prince

Igor arrived at his estranged Motherland in 1342 and though initial scepticism was widespread his features and his demeanor was so like that of the paintings and stories of Dominika, that he quickly gained respect and admiration. His confident ways and his noble nature made him many friends and some said that even if he were not a descendant of Dominika, he would still be a perfect candidate for Princedom. Meeting with Fyodor and Dmitri who helped him catch up on current affairs, the brilliant Prince quickly learned the state of his nation. Gradually his popularity rose, as did his knowledge and he was crowned Prince of Moscow in 1344. Though now officially the ruler of Russia Major, Igor wisely let the Brothers Karamazov continue to run most daily affairs regarding trade and the military which they had done for decades.

The first thing he did was reach out to other nations. The Britannians whom so unselfishly had rescued his grandfather from certain death. The Byzantines whom his history lesson had shown to be a nation of unparallelled integrity and great courage. The English who were strong and wise. Even the Persians did he send envoys of peace and reconciliation. Many other nations would also be contacted for purposes of renewed friendship, but the young Prince had much to do, he made public requests that Greece and Arabia send delegates to discuss closer ties, and made vows to build sound and lasting friendships with them, once the most pressing matters of state had been dealt with.

Prince Igor now focused his energies on diplomacy, battle training and music.

                • Flight or tactical withdrawal?

"Sire, here is the latest report from our observers in Eygpt" said the intelligence officers as he handed over the papers to Justinian. "As you can see the Peruvians are in full retreat. Both their attacks seem to have failed."

                  "A tactical retreat?"

"Perhaps, my lord. They appear to have full mastery of the sea, and it seems very difficult to piece together what friends either nation has. It is difficult to know whether these will now be a cease-fire, an Eygptian counter-attack, a second Incan invasion perhaps of devastating secret force, or whether this is just the opening salvo in a world-war "

"I am surprised that Luxor didn't fall"

"Yes sire, we thought it would, but it appears that the Peruvian traditional forces could not make headway against Egyptian conscipts armed with slave made muskets. And, although the Eyptians are often seen as pacificist, they had build massive castles in all their cities - without that castle which easily defied the Peruvian catapults - the city would have falled."

Justinian laughed "Maybe old Ramesses wasn't the fool some take him for. Good keep watch and report back soon."

                  • Anarchy in Persia!

The Summer Residence of Great Guru Az'Az was finished. Az'Az immediately sailed to New Russia to inspect it. Az'Az was intended to rule all of Persia during the summer from New Moscow and during the winter from Media.

While staying in New Moscow an uproar started in Media. The Guru immediately sailed back to Media to end the uproar of the Fat Hastogianists. When he arrived he was murdered immediately by the Fat who had taken Media.
The empire was renamed into Media, after the name of the Capital.

The Russian citizen of New Russia, inspired by the fat in Media, then raised against the Median motherland and declared independency. They claimed to continue the empire of Persia. Mostly refered to as "New Russian Persia".

                    Media and (New Russian) Persia

The differences between both parts of the empire were huge.
Media, run by Fat Hastogianists, was pure Hastogianistic, free, strong, selfish and proud.
New Russian Persia was a melting pot of religions and quickly turned into a caste base system where the different religions formed different castes and inter-caste-marriages were unseen. The colonies also adopted a pure pacifistic approach.

It was in this time of Anarchy that the Fat Guru of Media declared all mutual protection pacts of former Persia to be void. The future of the old Persian empire was unknown. Would both parts of the Empire ever be united again?

                    Guru Beli'Az and King Achmal

From now on (Fat Hastogianistic) Guru Beli'Az was the leader of the Medes. The Russians in New Russia crowned Achmal the first King of New Russian Persia. Achmal himself was a descendant of Hairy Hastogianistic grandparents. Never were the differences between the Fat and the Hairy that visible in the greater Persian Empire.
