i dont see the benifit of it and it only makes other problems.

I remember, in BtP I revealed who the original Korea was, then deity asked me in private to not reveal it to keep the conspiracies running. I thought that was cool, some rumours around possible people behind civs are always cool in anonymous games.
But then deity got some serious yelling at him b/c Korea was a financial civ and there was an agreement that deity/toni/ozzy should not take a financial civ. I think that then I revealed it was Jon. (not our St Jon) (well, nobody really knows)
Anyway, it teaches us that we should not judge too early.
I also prefer not to give away my identity. Unfortunately I was forced to b/c people believed I cheated using my hosting powers. After close research it appeared that there was no cheat but a (known) (reproducable) bug. But then I had lost my anonymous identity already
And Rasputin, you never know about the 'better' civs, I've been on the lower end of the score for about all diplogames, but in BtP I suddenly was one of the better ones. (fortunately I was able to screw my position by declaring war on Rome about 6 times though)
