I weep at the continuing Spatan brutality the rural nation that was once Korea but soon just to be another Labour Camp for Sparta to build up her Armies of Repression once again! See how Menelaus the Zoophilie's thugs deal with a humble farmer protesting the rape of his land!

See how the Spartan's teach even their young boys to mistreat simple beasts of burden!

Who will aid these sad and forgotten people? These are not soldiers and hold nothing more fearsome than spade or pitchfork to defend themselves. Neither, under sun and sky, can such cruelty be tolerated, inflicted upon dumb animals, be allowed to continue!

As for the Roman claim that 'there has not been a single expression of opposition from a world power' for their craven and cowardly actions can only mean that Rome would dismiss Russian opinions on this War as not coming from a 'world power' and therefore consider them to be beneath them to be concerned. It is good to know where one stands with one's Allies!

    • News from Japan

The main event of course is the war wih the Mayans. Just when the Japanese thought that a long lasting peace have been acomplished they got into an other war-against a nation that they know a little about and had no dispute with in the past.
Yukawa Hideki, prime minister of Japan, held a long and passionate speech in the Japanese parliament about the reasons of the war and how the Spartan's action are justified, but the reception of this was bad. There were numerous anti war demonstrations in the bigger cities. The situation somewhat calmed down when they learned that no Japan soldier will participate in the war, but still many demands that peace must be made at once.

      • Spartan military actions against the Maya almost over

Menelaus II is glad to report that the Spartan military intervention against Mayan aggression is almost over. Almost all of Korea is now under Spartan control.
Sparta is clear about it's intention, nothing of the original Mayan territory will be touched by Sparta.

After the Spartan military actions are over the Maya have the same territory they had before they declared war on Sparta (minus the land conquered by the Romans). Sparta will have full control over Korea though.

Menelaus wants to express clearly that if the Mayans would had accepted Sparta's original peace proposal Sparta would now be defending Maya's cities against the Romans. It is clear that with the defensive and naval force of Sparta on it's side the Romans would never have succeeded into conquering Mayan lands.

        • Koreans celebrating their liberation from the Mayans by the Spartans

Despite the lies from Russia almost nobody died during the Spartan conquest of Korea.
Sparta immediately started to install a local government for Korea.
Korea would get the same status as Japan within the Empire.

Ancestors of the royal line of Korea were looked for to sit on the throne of Korea again.

          • Menelaus II, Emperor of Sparta, Japan and Korea

After conquering most of Korea the Spartans decided to honour their ruler by awarding him and his children the Royal Title of "Emperor".
He was crowned immediately in the style of Buddhism. Many Japanese, Spartans and Koreans celebrated at this event that was being celebrated throughout all the entire, from the furthest northern Japanese colonies on Skull Island to the most southern Korean island Namp'O.
From New Sparta in the far West and the Gobi in the far east.

Japan and Korea were given the right to install a king themselves.
The royal line of Menelaus would be Emperor of all parts of the empire.

            • Liberation of Korea almost succeeded

After occupying Visyava and Hyangsan the Spartan liberation forces are almost done liberating all of Korea from the Mayan tyranny. Hyangsan was liberated without any bloodshed. The battle of Visyava was a test for the Spartan army nevertheless. A defence army of multiple Machine Gunners, Infantery and Riflemen defended Visyava, but the Spartan Invasion Force was able to destroy this defence with no casualities though many Spartans were injured.

A peace proposal had been sent to the Mayans.
It included the hand over of the remaining Korean cities, Wonsan and Cheju to Sparta and capitulation.
Sparta promised Maya a fair part in the Spartan empire, like Korea and Japan, and supply of oil, coal and uranium.

If accepted by the Mayans then the Maya lost no Mayan territory to the Spartans, but only had to give up their illegal occupation of Korea. Menalaus once again showed his mercyfull attitude towards the treacherous Mayans, especially his vow to protect the Mayans and supply them with all strategic goods they needed was considered very fiendly by many.

In the meanwhile the Koreans kept celebrating their liberation.

                • ooc: I'm REALLY surprised that you guys have had so little wars at your continent! Look at metalheads and holy rome.....!

It's also quite bizarre that Portugal was able to snatch most of New Portugal away while the Khmer were that close!

Be aware that England's most east-coast is almost between Skull Island and New Sparta (in the far west of this map)! (I have not placed it twice on the map)
The small Japanese island west of Japan's main island, north of New Sparta, is actually pretty close to England.

                  • Great map.

The one city on the eastern shore of Meduian sandwiched between Holy Roman territory is Celtic, not Metal. So is plenty of the land south of the Khmer that you have marked as Spain.

Edit: updated it myself. Turned out that I did had the correct maps, just screwed it up.

                        • Look at poor little Russia! Smallest nation on the Planet and surrounded by Super-Powers on every side. :-(

BTW. You have missed out the fact that Rome has also now got a third of what was once Maya!

PS. It is a brilliant Map!

                            • Report from Custos Marcos

People of Rome and Foreign Ambassadors,

I bring you good news of the continued operations by Roman land, naval and air forces securing the south coast of the Roman sea from continued Mayan piracy.

Together with the council of the house of representatives I have declared that this new land is to be known as the province of Africa, with its capital at Carthago, immediately across the Roman sea from Satricum. Carthago was the city from which the Mayan invasion fleet which destroyed Satricum, and threatened Rome was launched. It is fitting that this city is not the base for Roman governance of province of Africa, which will ensure that this never happens again.

In recent days the major city of Theveste has come under Roman control. This lies at the southern edge of the boundary of the Roman province of Africa, and signfies that the end of Roman military operations are in sight.

Our military and naval personnel are performing brilliantly.

I have decided to award the Medal of Augustus to two armies which have shown particular courage and bravery under overwhelming attack by Mayan forces. The citation will follow.

                              • Award of the Augustus Medal to the Fourth Army

                                People of Rome

I have awarded the Medal of Augustus to two armies. The first is to the fourth army.

The fourth army was a small mixed army consisting of infantry, machine gunners and curassairs. At the beginning of the Roman action on the South of the Roman sea it landed on the Island of Lybia, near the city of Cyrene. The garrison of Cyrene was easily overcome.

However, at the other end of the small island at the port of Ptolemais, the whole of the Mayan army group assembed to capture the Gobi desert as a staging post for their attack on Athens was assembled. Division after division of riflemen, strongly supported by artillery. The fourth army led by Duke Boniface had barely had time to orgaise its defence of Cyrene before the assault began. The Mayan assault was strongly supported by a rolling barrage from their artillary which destoyed much of the city of Cyrene, the Mayan showing no mercy to their own population. The Roman forces hid in their dug outs, waiting, watching. The damage among the horses was particularly horendous.

Then they came. Ranks after ranks of Mayan soliders, regiment after regiment. To begin with the Roman machines guns took a frightening toll. The Mayan lions led by donkeys marching into withering gunfire, day after day.

However, the Mayan numbers were overwhelming. Gradually one by one the machine guns posts were overwhelmed. They fell back to the old city of Cyrene itself. The Mayan forces sensing victory pushed forward without pause. Then Duke Boniface himself leading the curassairs swept out from the port of Cyrene cutting through the disorganised Mayan forces. Those nearest the walls of Cyrene were abandoned by their comrades and then fell to deliberate, focued attacks from Roman infantry, until finally they started surrendering in droves. Those nearest the hills reformed in the cover of the high ground, unsure but still believing in their numbers.

Then in a daring assault at night Duke boniface led his curassairs again, cutting through the demoralised Mayan riflemen scattering them decisively. The casulties among the curassairs were sizeable, whereever pockets of Riflemen were strongly led they formed powerful opponents, but in the end the Maya were destroyed. The whole of the army was destroyed, and with it Pacal's dream of conquering the Gobi and burning Athens.

The fourth army was severely depleated, but it had held together and survived an assault as firece as the famous battle of Velitrae. I am proud to award them the Medal of Augustus.

                                Custos Marcus.
