    How many people here have played this mod?

    It is hands down the best mod for Civ4. It has a dark fantasy setting, so it is a full game of civ with Elves, Dwarves, Demons, Vampires, etc. Much effort has been made to push the boundries of what the game can do so there is magic and a million fascinating and creative additions to the game.

    I created a fairly popular map that goes with the game. It is actually the most downloaded fantasy map for all of Civ4 on CFC.

    I am interested, at some point, in playing an epic Pitboss diplogame on this map. FfH2 is absolutely perfect for diplo.

    FfH2 was designed by Kael and is based actually on a Dungeons and Dragons game of his, so there are extensive story lines and characters throughout the game. It is perfect for role playing. Civs all have good, evil or neutral alignments. Religions are very interesting and flavorful. There are lots of special hero units. The FfH2 universe is a rich tapestry just begging for a diplogame.

    So I'm throwing it out there. I'd like to have a mix of hardcore diplogamers from Apolyton and hardcore FfH2 fans from CFC. I think diplogaming would catch on big with the FfH2 crowd. They are uniquely attuned to role playing and story telling. So I think if and when we get the game going we host the game threads over at CFC (sorry Poly).

    Anyhow, the game is still in development (and has been for years) so I don't want to start the game yet. It is getting at least somewhat close to finishing, so it is on the horizon. But since the hardcore FfH2 fans are pretty knowledgeable about the mod I want to give you guys a heads up to check the mod out. Play around with it, learn the civs and the features of the game. So you are ready when we arrange the massive diplogame.

    Magic, dragons, crusaders, golems, orcs, mad clowns, centaurs, demons, elves, giants, gods, the end of the world, and diplogaming. Who wants in?

    Well it would only work on PBEM, due to the OOS errors that it gets, making it useless for pitboss.

        Ah crap, that sucks. Well maybe by the time we get around to play this game they'll have that figured out. PBEM would be impossible if we want to try and fill the map (every civ!).

            Yes, there are also OOS's in PTBS.

            OOS's in mods are nearly impossible to avoid, unfortunately, if ANY significant python is used; passing everything across the network is very hard to manage.

              Crap.

              The part I like least about FFH2 is how many brilliant bells & whistles it has that never get used by the AI. It is like having some souped up 300 horse-power muscle car and sitting in the garage playing with the horn.

              Human opponents would bring a whole new level to the game. And unlike regular kill everyone MP games, Diplogames would bring a lot of depth to the game.

                I would be interested in a fantasy MP game, especially it it was to be diplo stlye, I however won't be able to play properly before January 2009.

                  Yea, I bet it'd start after that. I just want to give people a few months to sink their teeth into the game.

                    That is not good to hear, especially when I've been working hard on this diplogame mod. Although all of the modcomps I have been using are said to be "MP-friendly," so I guess we'll find out in the test phase...
