This map is intended for multiplayer games (1x1, 2x2, 3x3 etc), that's why I put it in this subforum.
I've made a new map for our KAC http://www.civilization.org.pl/ ranking games. This time it is a map that bases on Team_Battleground map script. Generally my idea was:
1. mirrored map - to make it fair for players
2. reflection top - bottom to make it more interesting (all my previous maps were mirrored left - right)
3. no obstacles between players (like a sea in my LD_*_Inland_Sea* maps)
4. players start in identical places - one in top part of map, other in bottom one. Starting places are maximum 20% of map's height from top and bottom edges, so there is at least 60% of map's height between them. For tiny map size it means that there is at least 16 tiles between players.
5. players start in the middle of map (considering horizontal placement). Starting plots are between 35% and 65% of map's width, so are always in the middle 30% of map.
6. Players are separated by a desert, but sometimes there is a river which turns the desert into very tasty flood plains
7. resources are placed in a standard way - in random places (but of course are mirrored)
Map size in tiles (width x height)
duel: 12x24
tiny: 16x28
small: 20x32
standard: 24x40
large: 32x52
huge: 40x64
Examples of maps generated using this map script:

Starting position #1:
Starting position #2 (after map regeneration):
Reflection #1: gold, flooded plains, copper - very nice spot
Reflection #2: only two flooded plains and desert, desert...
To get nice area at the reflection point I had to regenerate this map script many times. Almost each time the middle of map is deserted.
Installation instructions:
0. turn off civ
1. download attached file LD_Mirror_Battleground.zip
2. unpack it - you'll get file plik LD_Mirror_Battleground.py
3. copy this file to directory My Documents\My Games\Beyond The Sword\PublicMaps
4. launch civ
