Ive had the game awhile and I just dounf time to plya on-line yesterday, and I had to download patch 1.6something and then I went back in and had to download patch 1.7something and after I downloaded that one, CivIV won't load... is there some way I can skirt around that patch?

If you're playing Civ4 (vanilla) online (on Gamespy), you have to have the current patch (1.74).

Try downloading it here if you aren't able to install the patch properly.

If you aren't able to load Civ after correctly installing the patch, you may need to update your DirectX installation (at www.microsoft.com/directx/ ).
