Civil War Anyone?

I would like to play the Civil War MOD via PBEM.

It will be a duel (of course) so anyone who is interested please respond.

You get choice of Union or Confederate.

You may want to try the Civ IV PBEM forum ... we tend to do live direct IP games on the weekends.

Two people though shouldn't be bad at all.

I would be willing to play either a PBEM or a pitboss game. I'm open to Union or Confederate.

Are you familiar with PBEM? I have never done one.

I've played a PBEM before with CTP and I'm also currently playing a PBEM with Warlords. Is the Civil War one of the included modifications?

One suggestion may be to play as a Pitboss game as it could be played either as a PBEM or MP as schedules allow.

I would perfer email as oppsed to pittboss since it is just 2 people. Otherwise, there would be an alturnating double move every single turn.

Considering this game is going to be much more tatical then stratigic, it makes sense that we take alturnating single turns. Hence, pbem.

There is no included civil war mod.

The MODs i know of are regular civ4 as opposed to warlords. I will try to find a warlords one (great general emergence would indeed be very fitting to atmosphere).

Either way, I will post the URL for the MOD download once I determine the best MOD. Currently i know of two, but they are both regular civ4.

Interesting game concept.

Any chance of making it a two on two team game - eastern and western fronts? Or would you prefer to stick with just two. I suspect most of the mods are set up that way.

And yes - as a pbem - this would work fine.

You could always play PTBS as a consecutive turns game (not concurrent like we normally play)... easier than PBEM in that you don't have to email anything and you can preplan your turn, but still has the turn order set.

Beta: 2v2 for this would be great IMO. (Grant and Sherman VS Lee and Jackson perhaps?)

Unfortunately, I don't think the MODs allow for this.


Snoopy: Good point, I forgot about that pittboss feature. As mentioned before though, I'm keeping my hosting to one game at a time, so unless Nuke would want to run a pittboss game for this 24/7 we probably want to go the email route.
