I am frankly appalled by the allegations of vote-fixing. Saddam Hussein would probably have 200% of the popular vote if it wasn't for you liberal scaremongers!!!

Good Evening, this is Asharok Mahmut here at the Al Jazeera election night coverage studio. It has been an exhilarating evening, truly electrifying. The last votes are finally ticking in and we will have the official results in just a few minutes.
The election night started out with favorite candidate Suleiman Ozman gaining a good lead of votes coming in from the rural areas, strongly supportive of the traditional rule of the sultan's heir. Also many people in the rural areas supported fundamentalist candidate Osama bin Laden, I'll allow myself to call him fundamentalist instead of wahhabist, since, good news, he didnt win, gaining just in the excess of 12% of the votes.
Ahem, anyway, candidate Ahmadinejad clearly disappointed earlier this evening as his votes stopped trickling in early in the night, only barely exceeding that of Mr. bin Laden. From early on it became clear that the election would fall to Prince Suleiman Ozman who took a considerable majority, though strangely following closely was the darkhorse candidate Saddam Hussein. And as you have all been seeing here on the election night reports, the race has been locked tight and close with Prince Suleiman having a comfortable lead since the votes came in from the major cities.
But now it seems that the darkhorse has been sprinting the last part of the race and is near equal in votes to favorite candidate Prince Ozman. The director of the department of health has run a semi-populist campaign, appealing to the desires and needs of the common man, and woman. He has focused his issues on what people need in the daily life instead of the larger religious issues dividing many and causing much derision, and this focus on what people need and want instead of what the state should believe, has apparently won him many more votes than what the more traditional candidates could have expected. We may see a definite turn in the way elections are campaigned after this breakthrough in political campaigning.
And now the final votes have been counted and the results ARE CLEAR!! There is a winner of the election!!! What a fantastic turn of events!!
The final results are....
Osama bin Laden, 2, 136 542 votes. A mere 12%, more than what many expected and hoped for, but realistically, a good election for a man living in the past.
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, 2, 465, 135 votes. Also a rough 12,5% which is considerably lower than expected. Many voters we have spoken with today have stated that the man who split the atom should stay in the labs and let the decisions fall to more responsible men, his populist tone did not carry the credibility required for great support. Perhaps a bit harsh, but that is the voice of the people.
Saddam Hussein, the deparment of health director, the man noone believed stood a chance, a true contender from seemingly nowhere, it seems his campaign of speaking to ordinary people face to face and promising an increase in living standards and health care struck a tone among the many living in poor conditions and the people seeing the compatability of islam and socialism, namely the equality of all men. A total of votes, stunning the whole country, in fact, the entire world with his last minute dash of hundreds of thousands in rural areas and towns, and especially many soldiers supported his doctrine it seems, SIX MILLION FOUR HUNDRED AND EIGHT THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED AND THIRTY SIX!!!! 6, 408,936!!
A whopping 37,5% of all votes counted!! AND POSSIBLY THE WINNER OF THE ELECTION!!
Prince Ozman has at last count nearly the same support!! The prince has a strong 6, 334, 221 votes, counting 37,4% of all votes, but FAILING to beat the popularity of the man of the people. The man for ordinary men as Saddam's campaigners have taken to calling him!
We will now ask the winner how he feels about this stunning victory. Saddam Hussein, President Saddam Hussein, my apologies, how do you fee about this amazing slip of fate?
-Insh'allah. It is the will of Allah, represented through the people of Islam. The people have decided that they want a better life more than theological debate, it is Allah's wish that his people live in good health and so it is our desire to make this come true. We true muslims do not fear other religions, we can afford to be tolerant of other faiths, so if the United Nations agrees to free religion, then we should not contest it, free religion means we as muslims can worship as we deem it best, and of course, show the strength of our faith and unity to the world. No muslim needs forcing to believe. Free religion is not opposed to islam, it is most compliant to it.
-As for the important issues, I will strive to make the people of Arabia strong and prosperous. We need to ensure that everyone has decent health care and that the man in the street has the opportunities and respect that is his right. Too long have clerics and others who have thrown their outdated views into the political ring obscured the truth, that all men are equal, in the eyes of Allah and to eachother. As such it is our duty to strive to make this encompass all men of all nations and all faiths. It is especially important then that Arabia is united and strong for there are many who would not desire to see such freedoms spread and seek to destroy it by whatever means thinkable.
Clear message from tonights election winner. Saddam Hussein will strive to make Arabia great in both military might and prosperity for all. This has been Asharok Mahmut reporting for Al Jazeera, we wish you all a good night and will come with more details through the night of how and what made for these truly amazing and unexpected results.Last edited by LzPrst; February 9, 2007, 20:22.Diplogamer formerly known as LzPrst

(ps. this was made as a victory post for saddam when the result was 6 to saddam and 5 to suleiman, as I had ozzy's permission to make a post in favor of saddam then, I'm keeping the victory with him, but a few more votes may trickle in and turn it still....)Diplogamer formerly known as LzPrst

well, it seems your brain is right. I dont want to get in too deep again. it takes too much out of me. that late every friday night, sometimes I have work on saturdays now, it's just not going to be compatible with my schedule. also, I haven't even played civ since I dropped out. I think I might have OD'ed on civ
on the other hand, if you ever are in need or want of a neutral commentary for your games, I'd be happy to chip in. I love writing stuff that isn't meant to be taken too serious
also, a quick apology for dropping out. I was going to explain why and such, but I just didnt have the energy. basically, I didnt really want to play all that much but felt I had to since I made a commitment. and that is a bad starting point for playing a game once a week for months to come. maybe I could join again another time, but the fact is, right now, I dont really want to expend the time and effort required for a diplogame. but I will wish you all the best of luck. maybe things will change later when I feel more interested in civ'ing again.
and who knows, I might be willing to sub from time to time or be called upon to write a few posts. just PM me if there's anything I can help out with. (I dont frequent the forums here these days as I dont play that much civ)
