It is I, Narmer, the pillar of Egypt. Thebes was founded upon the Nile and I set my sons in search of treasure, knowledge and experience.

Bear after bear attacked wise fortified princes, giving them great strength to be the foundation of new settlements. Wolves ravaged the land. In time the Vikings and Carthage came to see the wonder on the great Nile. Indeed, the great stones of the Great Circle have made our gods happy.

Eldest son has settled Memphis with its nearby forests to build the city, and continues to explore and prepare for new settlements. He is working to strengthen our borders so that we might grow in peace away from the wild beasts and barbarian warriors. Egypt is proud of the crown prince!

Visitors of the world have sent emissaries to the Black land of the Nile. Inca has come to worship at the great stone circle on the plain of Thebes. The worship of our many gods has traveled the Nile to Memphis eventually spreading to every city in the Kingdom.

With the training of a company of archers, soon we will be protected from the barbarian axemen when our workers can train chariots. The vizier, Ptah Hor sends thanks the Inca for sending a champion to Egypt during the barbarian attacks while our archers were being trained.

Our wise men have discovered Heiroglyphs! The beauty of their design intrigues Pharaoh. We have extended a welcome to the English to view them, as I have them painted on my burial chamber.

Trevriffic, the Monarch of the English empire has created one of the worlds great empires from the foundations of a small fishing village. A fantastic food resource in fish and clams plus the early discovery of whips from a tribal village with knowledge of bronze quickly grew the village and produced workers and settlers in abundance. The support of a specialized group of workers who we called scientists allowed the English Empire to quickly develop a system of laws and a way of living known by most as Trevfucianism although some other empires have given it a strange chinese name. This knowledge has allowed a rapid expansion of cities in the wide area of jungle to our north, hopefully cornering a lot of the ivory market and maybe a product which we may call dyes if our scientist can find viable uses for it, it is so common around our city it is asking to be used. Our early science advances have been sold to many empires who gladly sought our knowledge and we were very glad to share them being a peaceloving lawabiding civilization who wish to be friends with all.

The legendary founder, Chaka brought his people from mountain caves to the Cuzco Valley. During the early Inca period the tribe gradually established its hegemony over other peoples of the valley and under their new tribal leader named Vasco allied themselves with the tribes west from the Cuzco valley. Although the local area offered a diversity of plant domestication, the handicaps of terrain and climate presented severe obstacles. To overcome them, Inca engineers demonstrated extraordinary skill in terracing, drainage, irrigation, and the use of animal fertilizers. They domesticated animals (the cow, the horse and the pig) were important to daily living.

Without paper or a system of writing, the architects and master masons who designed and supervised the construction of public buildings and engineering works in such cities as Veliki Dol and the city of the Golden Flowers built clay models and, in actual construction, employed sliding scales, plumb bobs, and bronze and stone tools. Without wheeled vehicles for transport, the huge polygonal stone blocks for barracks, palace, temple, and storehouse were emplaced by ramp and rollers and were fitted with extraordinary precision. Wall corners were always carefully bonded. Adobe bricks and plaster were common, especially along the coastal desert. Buildings were usually of one story.

In the manufacture of textiles the Inca utilized almost every available kind of fiber and produced elaborate multicolored tapestries. In ceramics they achieved a fine-grained, highly polished, metallic hardness that stressed functional and utilitarian design. Mining was fairly extensive. Of the metals, iron and bronze were for public use; gold was reserved for the king and the temples. Metallurgical processes included the techniques of smelting, casting and hammering.

An elaborate network of roads was build between the cities, which allowed for a faster movement, which greatly increased trade between the cities. Also scouts were send to explore the unknown world. Many different people were met and contact was established. It looks like that the Inca are not allow in this world, the so called Spanish were not so far in the east, a tribe called the Germans was located also in the north, already some borders negotiations are being conducted with them. We have heard rumors that they come from the great desert in the north, and are looking to settle more fertile land. The Inca will gladly aid them in their search for the promised land they seek, we only request that the great land bridge stays open!

The Viking Empire had humble beginings like many civilizations. Built on an unspectaular piece of forested land near the coast in the Great North, the Vikings had but one resource, the sea, and directly across that sea was the land of the Germans. Ancient lore called the Germans a cousin race, remote and less advanced, but none the less friendly and culturally acceptable people who respected the forces of nature and the sea.

Driven by close quarters in the narrow coastline afforded the Viking homeland, a band of scouts began to explore the vast continental interior. An oral account of one such expedition was later translated into Runic by a Viking historian.

"My people invented banking. You see, we'd go out in to the wilderness. Ya know, just to see what was a bit over the next hill. Once in awhile we'd find a village or whatnot. We'd go into the village, and the people would give us their gold and valuables and such. You know, for safe keepin' or whatnot. Everyonce in awhile you'd find a lot of chaps who were rather smitten with the idea that they could be bankers like us. I suppose they might have gone out to do similar dealings, not that I know much about them mind you."

The immenese "banking" reserves were used to fuel the growth of the Viking empire. Establishing colonies at increasing distances from the capital became progressively harder. Eventually the reserve of over 700 gold had been expended, leaving a new generations of Viking leaders to handle the problem of Imperial Order.[

Where the forest met the sea and the desert the Germanic tribe did settle and form The Deitian Stronghold. It was known that settling in the forest would impinge on the Norsemen from over the sea who had already settled only a little distance away.

A scout ventured out across the sandy ocean to find oasis's to settle the expanding populations. South of the Sandy Sea two more cities were established, one was to be a centre for the industrious Deitians to build troops and Wonders. The other was Easterly on a land bridge towards the Vikings and here was the first city that did not include a desert square.

Sailing was quickly invented to allow quick passage of trade for this non-experienced financial tribe. And the many islands in the North were explored and settlement had begun there too.

In the far south a good city location was found and an Archer was stationed there on the Gems site. Then the Incas were met in the same location where they fortified an Axeman on the rich iron deposits. After some negotiations it was agreed that The Deitian Stronghold would settle this city location and that we would not venture any further south on to their lush floodplains.

Technology trading began in earnest when a Viking trade negotiator arrived; followed by a Trevian negotiator. Various agreements were struck and the Vikings agreed that the Deitians would build one more city Easterly of the land bridge but out of the way of the Inca. This site may become the proper capital of the Deitians.

From far away cries for help emanated from the English who wre under intense pressure from Barbarian invaders.

If they face oblivion the Deitians urge all nations to work together to form a rescue package of settlers and troops to re-establish this far away kingdom.

The Viking Empire continued its epic march eastward on the great continent of Terra. In the south and east new cities were established and courthouses were established in order to better manage the growing empire.

Barbarian assaults for the first time became a problem for the Vikings. Seeking to settle the Great Northern Coast, brave Viking warriors first had to subdue its native peoples, who flowed from the continent's interior into the Eastern Viking lands. It took many armies in order to bring the lands into Viking dominion. Nobles in the growing cities of the West also increased their armies to consolidate control in these areas.

Above all the age was about knowledge. Currency and Codes of Laws were first introduced from foreigners, as well as new theological concepts and calanders. Viking Construction techiques and codes of Feudal order became popular with the many kingdoms of Terra as well.

Lately the goal of the great Incas has been to invest theirs energy into cleaning the great northern jungle in order to start farming the land so our great cities can start growing native vegetables as Avocado, Calabaza, Cassava root, Chayote and Potatoes. Meanwhile due to the huge labor demanded for this task a decision was made that instead of exterminating the barbarians who were trying to disturb our way of life from the east and west that it will best to enslave them to help us in our great task of improving our lands. Also reports came in from our scouts that the great civilization of Deitians, Spain and the Vikings where located somewhere in the far north and east from us. Inca diplomats were being sent out to make contact in the hope of further expanding resource and tech trading.

In order to maintain friendly relations with these civilizations the outpost of Vitosha was build close to the Spanish and Deitians borders, our hope is that the Deitian and Spanish ambassadors will join us, where we can discuss matters as trade, politics etc.

The Trevians have continued to expand into the jungle to our north and now are ready to expand into the open spaces on the other side. Also the people of the world are beginning to appreciate the wonder of the trevfucious way, a system of rules and traditions that help maintain a vibrant growing people and are joining The Way, in particular several Spanish cities and people of the Deitian Stronghold. We have maintained excellent relations with all the world and have traded technologies with all the world's civilizations, helping us to maintain top billing in the tech race. With the Chicken Trevza built, we also have a strong defence, a need to keep the barbarians at bay who come relentlessly from the north and northeast. One unfortunate city was razed by the barbarian swords, but another city has been established on the same site. The Trevian people have began to trade their extensive reserves of ivory and dye for other resources that are needed by our people and ships are exploring to find a trade route to the more distant civilizations and increase our trading opportunities.

Great acievements by the little desert peoples....

                            The Great Lighthouse
                            The Colossus

These are crucial to the stronghold's economy, as all cities are on oceans or lakes, save for the new capital which was built inland near the Viking and Spanish borders. The invention of Bureacracy and adoption of Civil Service had little impact as the new capital began its' growth. In the long run this would be a mighty capital though.

The Pyramids, incredulously, were constructed in the south. It was an idle fancy by the local Governor who believed that such a Wonder would almost certainly be built in Egypt or another far away land.

With these wonders and the adoption of Representative Government the stronghold became a vibrant and robust civilisation. This was strengthened by the arrivval of Trevfucionism in 'dei cap'. Quickly more missionaries were being built to spread this newly adopted religion to all corners of the stronghold.

The bilateral trading alliance with the Vikings went from strength to strength, despite the international pressure applied about unfair trading. But this pressure did precipitate a breakdown of some deals within the Trevfucionist bloc. Some say that trading blocs are non-diplomatic but the stronghold's position is that solid blocs that grow from organic and religious bonding and trade dealing is absolutely fine and necessary at times.

The main agenda now is the building of Courthouses to improve the advantages of sea cities and to build harbours soon after. The GNP should start to improve.

Letter of Protest to the Inca

We as the representative government of the Deitian Stronghold do most strongly protest at the settlement of this city without prior discussion with our selves and most possibly Spain - although we need clarification from the Spanish ambassador.

We appreciate the negotiations over the establishment of our gem city in the south but it is clear the Inca have an abundance of excellent land.

We request that the jungles south of our new capital are left free of Inca settlements and are subject to negotiations between Spain and the Deitian Stronghold.

We request a tri-lateral heads of government meeting to discuss these matters.
