Creating/Logging into Multiplayer Account

This is driving me nuts. I just bought a copy of the game for the main interest of playing it multiplayer (been playing alot of Civ3 Single). Anyway when I try to log into my existing account or creating a new one my game jumps for about 3 seconds and does nothing. I have been scouring Civ4 sites for the answer before deciding to come here help. So pleeease. Someone heeeelp!

Have you patched your game to the latest version?

Yes I have. 1.61. Before that Logging in and Creating Accounts did nothing. Now it actually skips for 3 seconds.

Did you open your windows XP firewall in the right way?
Are you on win XP? Are you behind a router?

I'm not behind a router and by my Windows Firewall I have put it as a accepted Program.

Theres nothing to see. The game is still on it just freezes then returns to normal. Still on the create/login screen.

You are having Gamespy trouble... Civ4 requires a "Civ4-enabled" account. To get this, go into Civ4 and create and new account with all the details exactly the same as your existing account. That'll enable it for use on Civ4.
