  • The Appeal for Peace in Our Time

Let it be known that the Holy See fully supports the proposal by the Indian government as the one most likely to bring about peace in our time. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, we appeal to all good people to likewise invest their trust and faith in this proposal. The Holy See also urges the immeadiate ban and dismantling of all nuclear weapons; such a sword hanging above our heads is most certainly not what the Lord would have us do.

    Pope John Paul I
Written at the Church of the Nativity, Yaroslavl', on the 3rd April 1718, during the forty-first year of our pontificate.

    • The Republic of Spain

TO: Prime Minister Harold Wilson of England
FROM: Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar of Spain

      Greetings from Spain!

It has come to our attention that your nation has been implicated in the UN investigation of the bombing at Lahore; I will admit, Spain gave aid to the UN investigation by offering our own intelligence and has also completed a thorough report of the investigation by our own UN Representative Juan Luis Zapatero.

We have concluded that the UN investigation was not handled in a reckless and hap-hazard fashion like you may have contended, numerous states were contacted directly some of which decided to ignore the inquiries, others were quite helpful. Obviously, when one looks at the situation one will not find it difficult to believe that India, the state which was attacked, and Russia the state allied to India, were most helpful in the investigation. Our own intelligence agents merely reported two facts; (1) A nuclear meltdown in a reactor at Trufan, and (2) An English military build up prior to the bombing at Lahore. These mere facts are the ones we presented. This is the type of transparency Spain is willing to offer, and we will attempt to do so further as soon as our ambassadors arrive in Madras.

In the meantime, I compel you to accept the suspension of your space program to give the UN enough time to sit down and get to the bottom of the matter without going to blows.

I understand that there is little love between the English and the Spanish, but I ask you in the name of the innocents, to accept this plan until a revised ultimatum is furnished.

      Thank you,

      Jose Maria Aznar
      Prime Minister of Spain

        MANKIND IN SPACE
        The End of Time

        By Jeffrey Edwards

INDIA- Last night, Indian government representatives announced that they had succesfully completed the Space Ship Model, winning themselves the Space Race between themselves and their allies. This provides India, and it's leaders and people, a place in the History of Time, for accomplishing such a feat, such a miracle.
A mysterious government source, who goes by the name of Ozzy KP, has announced that India intends to share the win of a lifetime with her closest allies, America and Russia. Ozzy KP also acknowledged the hard-working dedication of the governments of both England and China, who came very close to completing the Space Ship.
Other nations, such as Inca, Germany, and Spain have mixed feelings. A Germany source, who only referred to himself as Prussia, stated that even though the other nations have been knocked out of the race, and that for the next very long time, India will reign supreme and the world's super-power, the people of all nations are thrilled that mankind could achieve such a feat. He said, "I woke up last night to parading and cheering. I went outside to find hundreds of thousands of people all looking up in the sky. And there I saw it. One of the most gorgeous Space Ships I've ever seen."

So, it has been quite a long time, readers. This newspaper has brought you coverage of all world events for the past 5000 years. From the conquering of France, to countless wars and disputes, to the forming of the United Nations, it has been quite a ride. Many will think that this is the end of time. But who knows...

...It might just be the beginning.

[01:22] NolanCiv: without the penalty, he'd have finished the ss in 30t, so that means 5 turns and would beat Ozzy's 8t
[01:29] rhodberth: that's what one would call good diplomacy!
          [01:30] Lazer KP: 4 turns
          [02:05] Lazer KP: wheeee!
[02:06] Lazer KP: replay replay replay!!!

          [02:06] Lazer KP: hehe
[02:06] NolanCiv: I shall leave Inca's story to England.
[02:06] Lazer KP: why not polite?
[02:07] rhodberth: my expansion was the quickest, only to be stopped b/c of no room quickly as well
[02:07] *** Deity has been invited to the group chat.

          [02:08] Lazer KP: i didn't know that
          [02:08] rhodberth: I was the 1st

[02:09] NolanCiv: why didnt you tell the truth Frank?
          [02:09] rhodberth: what truth?
[02:09] NolanCiv: that he sent the spies, not us
          [02:09] rhodberth: because it's a game
[02:09] dangime: I didnt do the first one
          [02:09] dangime: Ironicly
[02:10] rhodberth: he can hide it if he wants to
          [02:10] Lazer KP: you didn't?
[02:10] dangime: I was only interested in the 2nd
[02:10] rhodberth: why should someone be forced to tell the truth?
[02:10] Lazer KP: time for everyone to fess up now, who did it?
[02:10] dangime: if it was a clean op, I would have won so I chanced it
          [02:10] Crostothlay: heh
[02:10] dangime: but not the first one
          [02:10] Crostothlay: not me
[02:10] NolanCiv: i canat see the replay with the voting screen on it
          [02:11] Lazer KP: continue then
[02:11] rhodberth: I confess that I destroyed some of my own tile improvements to blame it on Germany 2 sessions ago
          [02:11] NolanCiv: I did
          [02:11] Lazer KP: nolan?!?
[02:11] rhodberth: but who destroyed my oil?
[02:11] Crostothlay: you sly girl, you
[02:11] Lazer KP: nolan bombed Lahore?!?
          [02:11] rhodberth: haha
          [02:11] Deity: Nolan?
          [02:11] Deity: Did you really?
          [02:11] Deity: no
[02:12] Deity: She said not to me
[02:12] Lazer KP: oh, well damn, who did it?
[02:12] Deity: so who did it?
[02:12] rhodberth: America reports the conquering of Hamburg
[02:12] dangime: I didnt do the first bombing deity.
[02:12] Lazer KP: oh heh, y'all still playing?
          [02:12] rhodberth: I am 8)
[02:12] rhodberth: I'm enjoying my war
[02:13] rhodberth: I shouldn't have postponed it that long
[02:13] Deity: The game is quit
[02:13] Lazer KP: i'm still watching the replay
[02:13] Lazer KP: taking my time with it
[02:13] Lazer KP: savouring the replay
[02:13] Deity: well I woulda done that too if you all were, i cant see it now?
          [02:13] NolanCiv: No i didnt
          [02:13] Deity: Of course not!
          [02:13] Lazer KP: you quit
[02:13] Deity: So who did bomb L:ahore Please?
[02:13] Lazer KP: someone has to come clean
[02:14] dangime: it wasnt that great, because I was only in half of it.
          [02:14] Deity: Frank says no
          [02:14] Deity: Spain?
[02:14] dangime: I only bombed the 2nd one that failed.
[02:14] Lazer KP: maybe it was germany
[02:14] rhodberth: who destroyed my oil well last turn?
[02:14] Lazer KP: omni did it perhaps
[02:14] Deity: Toni not in this chat
[02:14] Crostothlay: germany doesn't have SY though, as far as i could see
          [02:14] Lazer KP: oh
          [02:14] Lazer KP: Capo then?
[02:15] dangime: I will put ok that I contributed 1000 gold to the bombing.
[02:15] NolanCiv: When I walked the spy around, i never went in a city, cause the troops buildup was visible when the spy was near the cities.
          [02:15] dangime: the first one
[02:15] Lazer KP: ah ha! it was capo!
[02:15] Deity: so who did it?
          [02:15] Deity: It wa Capo
          [02:15] Deity: that sux
[02:15] Lazer KP: that sneaky *****!
[02:15] rhodberth: Capo did the 1st?
          [02:15] Crostothlay: *shakes fist*
[02:15] rhodberth: did he do my oil as well?
[02:15] Lazer KP: who cares about your oil :P
[02:15] Deity: At least my credibility is in tact now
          [02:16] NolanCiv: same here.
[02:16] dangime: you prolly bombed it yourself
[02:16] Lazer KP: your credibility still hasn't recovered from HOTW2 and HOTW4
[02:16] NolanCiv: It really hurt to be out of the game defending myself
[02:16] dangime: I was anywhere from 5-12 turns behind on SS.
[02:16] rhodberth: there's no need for OOC self defense
[02:16] rhodberth: in game everybody may lie and do whatever they want
[02:16] Deity: WE might have won
          [02:16] NolanCiv: y
[02:16] Lazer KP: yea it was definitely close at hte end
[02:16] dangime: But a nuke war would have been a draw
          [02:17] Lazer KP: yea
          [02:17] rhodberth: good game!
          [02:17] Lazer KP: AMAZING game
[02:17] Deity: but the SS race was not as exciting with us out
[02:17] rhodberth: I never understood why you accepted the 24 turns delay
[02:17] dangime: Well honestyl capo and I were hoping you'd own each other
[02:17] Lazer KP: cause we should have invaded him otherwise
[02:17] Lazer KP: i bet you were
[02:17] dangime: Then I could have really won
[02:18] Deity: I cant help feeling thaty something wasn't quite right about all that Lahore bombing despitew what Cyber says
[02:18] Lazer KP: and i had a strong suspicion that it was you guys framing him
[02:18] Lazer KP: so i went for an option that contianed both of you
[02:18] dangime: Nah you fell for it. You just want to win with SS
[02:18] Deity: So Frank is now admitting open complictness
[02:18] rhodberth: England had the strongest military, why was you scared of us, deity?
[02:18] dangime: I didnt have to "do" any active convincing.
[02:18] rhodberth: you didn't play it very well, deity, delaying your ss production by 24 TURNS!
[02:18] dangime: I just didnt say anything.
[02:18] Lazer KP: i went for it, sure, but ultimately my plan was to take out england's spies and then isolate china
[02:19] Lazer KP: so another attack and i'd be certain it was china
[02:19] Lazer KP: and i'd attack
          [02:19] Lazer KP: or nuke
[02:19] Lazer KP: and i would have
[02:19] dangime: I had plenty of nukes :/
[02:19] Lazer KP: but there were just a few turns left
[02:19] Lazer KP: so i rode it out
          [02:19] Lazer KP: how many?
          [02:19] dangime: I dunno 8-10
          [02:19] Lazer KP: nice
          [02:19] Lazer KP: i had 4
[02:19] dangime: enough to get 1 into your cap
          [02:19] rhodberth: I had 3
[02:20] NolanCiv: same here i think
          [02:20] dangime: I liked Civ2 SDI better
[02:20] Lazer KP: kuno had like 4-5 i think
[02:20] Deity: but that framing of us meant wew wre either nuked or lose SS anyway
[02:20] Deity: how else could we play it?
          [02:20] Lazer KP: true
[02:20] Lazer KP: he did effectively take you out of the race
[02:20] dangime: Deity...I really didnt mean to frame you, all I did was give 1000 gold and keep quiet
[02:20] Lazer KP: man that little *****
[02:21] Deity: i dont feel so good about the last sessions,
[02:21] Deity: but well done ozzy
[02:21] NolanCiv: loosing spies was bad enough, but to force the loss of turns research and building was very nasty
          [02:21] Deity: and Cyber
[02:21] Lazer KP: thank you deity
[02:21] Lazer KP: well it seemed very much like england bombed me
[02:21] rhodberth: what you should've done........? just keep claiming your innocence
[02:21] Lazer KP: so that would be a suitable punishment
[02:21] NolanCiv: after 20 sessions to be twisted and insinuated by so many .. geez guyz
[02:21] rhodberth: if it should've resulted in a nuke fest, it should
[02:21] rhodberth: but it wouldn't sine we weren't sure that it was you
[02:21] Lazer KP: that is how the game works
[02:22] rhodberth: you could have won a nuke fest and won the game
[02:22] NolanCiv: we kept saying it was not us
[02:22] rhodberth: a 24 turn delay surely made you lose it
[02:22] Deity: You won it well and I hope my diplomacy played a part to at least stop a huge war and stop China winning
[02:22] dangime: We can use an old save and play nuke fest one day
          [02:22] Deity: yes
[02:22] Lazer KP: yes it did deity
          [02:22] rhodberth: haha
          [02:22] Deity: thx
[02:22] rhodberth: yes, I'm running over Germany right now
[02:22] Lazer KP: i was convinced it was you
[02:22] rhodberth: pesky enter key one turn 2 early
[02:22] Lazer KP: then your offer to suspend SS construction made me seriously question
[02:23] NolanCiv: it was a bid to show honesty.
[02:23] Lazer KP: so i decided to hopefully stop both of you from sabatoging me
[02:23] dangime: You dont blame me though do you?
          [02:23] NolanCiv: yes
[02:23] Deity: After all the debate about how a diplo should end I'd be the last person to start a nuke fest
[02:23] Lazer KP: it is all part of the game
[02:23] Lazer KP: well played frank
[02:23] Lazer KP: i think this is the best, most classic ending i've ever seen
          [02:24] rhodberth: it's a good ending
[02:24] rhodberth: more firework would've been great though
[02:24] dangime: I mean if you think about it, the status quo would remain into space :/
[02:24] Lazer KP: lots of drama and tension, but no war that spoiled it
          [02:24] Deity: exacvtly great ending
          [02:24] Crostothlay:
[02:24] rhodberth: I don't understand why China and England didn't do a joined invasion of India to stop India from winning
[02:24] dangime: Id get my ship and go to beta centari :P
[02:24] NolanCiv: y, however i had nothing to do for the last 5 hours.. inca was unnecessary in the game at that point.
[02:24] Crostothlay: did you capture the final stats, ozzy?
[02:24] dangime: True, but the AI goes nuts on its own, sorry nols
[02:24] Lazer KP: i haven't finished the replay yet
[02:24] Deity: didn't you read the threads cyber?
[02:24] Lazer KP: but i will
          [02:25] Crostothlay: heheh
[02:25] NolanCiv: wasted fun for me
[02:25] Deity: WE all agreed on a proper diplo win
[02:25] Lazer KP: sorry nolan, thanks much for subbing though
[02:25] Deity: so i deliberately did not have an endgame war
[02:25] Lazer KP: it really helped us out
[02:25] The Capo: Damn, I thought you guys were still playing.
[02:25] rhodberth: I did read the threads Deity, and if you would you would have known that I disagreed :P
[02:25] dangime: I had every resource in my empire pillaged.
[02:25] The Capo: Yeah I bombed the city and you said it was the English so I went with it.
          [02:25] Lazer KP: hehe capo
[02:25] rhodberth: a diplo end doesn't mean a no-war end. War is just a part of diplomacy
[02:25] The Capo: And it almost worked!
          [02:26] Lazer KP: heheh
          [02:26] dangime: It did work
[02:26] Deity: ok fair point, but the consensus is what I went by
[02:26] dangime: It just wasnt enough
[02:26] The Capo: We were hoping you guys would bomb the hell out of eachother, then deity had to be a little girl.
          [02:26] Lazer KP: hehe
[02:26] NolanCiv: he knew i was no fighting partner
[02:26] Deity: so I beat you Capo
[02:26] rhodberth: nah, a game ending by a consensus just sucks :P
[02:26] The Capo: And at the end we almost sent a barrage of nukes at Delhi.
          [02:26] rhodberth: hehehehe
[02:26] The Capo: I guess, you can say you beat me, but that was never part of my plan.
[02:26] NolanCiv: ck the graphs, no army to speak of.. I worked on tech trading.
[02:26] The Capo: In actuality here's how it went... "You sure I should do this frank?"
[02:26] The Capo: "If you want"
[02:27] The Capo: "Do you got my back?"
          [02:27] The Capo: "Yes"
          [02:27] Lazer KP: hehe
[02:27] The Capo: That's how it went, there was no plan to frame anybody.
          [02:27] Crostothlay: heh
[02:27] Deity: I stuffed up your plan by adhering to our new consensus on diplo endings
[02:27] dangime: Nah in 6 turns, Spainard and Chinese fly to beta Centari :P its cool. and humans live
[02:27] Lazer KP: i feel used
          [02:27] The Capo: You should.
[02:27] The Capo: But it was all your idea.
[02:27] * Crostothlay gives ozzy a cheap cigar
[02:27] Deity: our ship was \only a few dozen turns away BTW
[02:27] The Capo: Man, at least deity didn't win.
[02:27] dangime: before or after the suspend?
[02:27] Lazer KP: but whatever, england and china were both cometitors
[02:27] The Capo: That's all I care about, plus it was kind of fun too.
[02:27] Lazer KP: i didn't really care too much who i took out
[02:28] Lazer KP: so if deity was being framed, then so be it
[02:28] The Capo: I was pissed when Ozzy *****ed out, I was hoping to see a huge war.
[02:28] NolanCiv: at start of session we were 30t from ss
[02:28] The Capo: I would have fought in it too this time.
          [02:28] Crostothlay: XD
[02:28] Deity: I out smarted you Capo
[02:28] Lazer KP: as did i
          [02:28] The Capo: I guess.
          [02:28] NolanCiv: loosing 25, that left 5 to ozzy's 8
          [02:28] Deity: true ozzy yeah
[02:28] The Capo: But like I said, I wasn't even trying to do that.
          [02:28] Deity: lol
[02:28] rhodberth: so, when do we start the next game?
[02:28] The Capo: I thought I was going to get caught and me and Frank would have to fight you guys.
[02:29] dangime: I need new time slot :/
[02:29] Deity: But like I said I coming over to the states to kill you
[02:29] Lazer KP: i decided it looked like frank may have set us up, so i went with deity's deal
[02:29] Crostothlay: whee.. i have the highest approval rate
[02:29] The Capo: Yeah, look, I am moving soon and I don't know what the hell is going on.
[02:29] The Capo: Bring it on deity.
          [02:29] Crostothlay: 64%
[02:29] The Capo: You old bastard.
          [02:29] Deity:
[02:29] The Capo: Aww, that's no fun though Ozzy.
[02:29] Lazer KP: too bad we didn't have a big war, our alliance had the best military
[02:29] Deity: OK, I better go
[02:29] The Capo: War would have been awesome.
[02:29] rhodberth: Did you guys know that Russia was a part of the Indian-American-Russian alliance?
          [02:29] Crostothlay: heheh
          [02:29] Lazer KP: duh
[02:29] dangime: You guys didnt have enough artillery :P
          [02:29] Deity: sort of
[02:29] Crostothlay: i thought it was obvious
[02:29] rhodberth: our military was huge combined
          [02:29] The Capo: Of course.
[02:30] The Capo: I didn't realize it was a secret either.
[02:30] The Capo: We should post up the stats and final crap.
[02:30] rhodberth: it was no secret, but till the end I saw people (think deity) only talk to India (and me as an allie of India) for winning
[02:30] Lazer KP: oh, that bombing in america a while back was me
[02:30] Deity: but we all have to be in the game to get accurate stats
[02:30] rhodberth: who bombed the oil well in India
          [02:30] rhodberth: *america
          [02:31] rhodberth: 2 turns ago?
[02:31] dangime: well guys I am going to try to recover
[02:31] dangime: still a bit messed up
[02:31] Lazer KP: after we agreed to a punishment for russia after his attacksin china
[02:31] Lazer KP: then russia attacked again
[02:31] rhodberth: All the terrorist attacks in America before the 1st American-German war were setted up by us
[02:31] dangime: I enjoyed the game despite coming in 2nd-3rd
[02:31] rhodberth: to trick GErmany into it
[02:31] Crostothlay: yay, i am... not dan quayle
[02:31] Lazer KP: so i quickly attacked america to make it look like it wasn't russia
[02:31] dangime: And thank you for your help Capo
[02:31] Lazer KP: so china didn't invade us
[02:31] dangime: Couldn't have done it without you
[02:31] Lazer KP: awesome game all
[02:31] Lazer KP: and a photo finish too
[02:32] rhodberth: Omni was totally tricked into it
[02:32] rhodberth: did anybody talk to Omni lately?
          [02:32] Lazer KP: nope
[02:32] *** dangime has left the chat.
[02:32] rhodberth: I wonder what happened to him after that game?
[02:32] rhodberth: did he just hate all of us?
[02:32] rhodberth: we really got him in-game
          [02:32] Crostothlay: yeah
[02:32] Lazer KP: yea he just disappeared
[02:32] rhodberth: and I think he was the only one who knew the truth
[02:32] rhodberth: all his allies thought it was his own fault
[02:33] rhodberth: Deity, you didn't notice that Omni wasn't warmongering against me at all, did you?
[02:33] Lazer KP: he was a bit
[02:33] Lazer KP: he was stiring up trouble
[02:33] Deity: Omni lost me the game
[02:33] rhodberth: a very very very little bit
[02:33] Crostothlay: it was mostly words
[02:33] Lazer KP: yea just words
[02:33] Crostothlay: but he never backed up his words
          [02:33] Lazer KP: yea
[02:33] Crostothlay: he had a paper military
[02:33] rhodberth: he only said that he wanted to send troops to defend the temple of solomon
[02:33] rhodberth: he never said he wanted to take it, that's what I made everyone believe
[02:33] Lazer KP: well that was his insinuation
[02:34] Crostothlay: it was easy to emphasize that insinuation
[02:34] rhodberth: well, he wanted just to have a minority jewish funda group
[02:34] rhodberth: but that's true indeed, he gave me good reasons
[02:34] The Capo: No problem man.
          [02:34] rhodberth: hehehe
[02:34] rhodberth: after that I couldn't finish it because of all the germany-subs
[02:34] Lazer KP: but well played re the lahore thing capo
[02:34] rhodberth: I hated that, it's not really nice to play against subs, for sure not if every week there's another sub
[02:35] rhodberth: ozzy: end your turn :P
          [02:35] The Capo: Well.
[02:35] Crostothlay: ozzy's still in replay XD
          [02:35] rhodberth: haha
[02:35] The Capo: I thought you guys stopped playing so I quit.
[02:35] Lazer KP: hehe yea i'm still in replay
[02:35] rhodberth: oh well, then I'll take germany in my dreams
[02:35] The Capo: Because nobody was moving.
[02:35] Lazer KP: i'm talking to you guys
[02:35] Lazer KP: and am distracted
[02:35] Crostothlay: yeah, i stopped playing
[02:35] The Capo: I'm writing a future post, I'm gonna send a peace keeping force down there Rhod!
[02:35] rhodberth: I was moving, I was continuing my war with Germany
[02:35] The Capo: So you better hurry up.
[02:36] Lazer KP: yay now i'm playing alone
          [02:36] The Capo: Bastard.
          [02:36] Crostothlay: lol
[02:36] The Capo: Play until I finish Apollos
[02:36] rhodberth: I thought Aznar was with Bush
[02:36] Lazer KP: heh i'm still in BC on the replay
          [02:36] Crostothlay: lol
[02:36] rhodberth: I stopped the replay after the voting screen
[02:36] The Capo: He is, but Zapatero was going to be the next leader if we had another session
[02:36] rhodberth: k guys, I'm going tos leep
[02:36] The Capo: Aznar also concocted the Lahore bombing!
[02:37] Crostothlay: aznar is a terrorist!
[02:37] rhodberth: Capo, do you use the official spanish history to decide how you will play?
[02:37] Lazer KP: everyone needs to do recap posts
[02:37] The Capo: To a very small extent.
          [02:37] rhodberth: k
[02:37] The Capo: I mainly use it as a guideline, the people are real for the most part.
[02:37] Crostothlay: my last story post was partly recap
[02:37] rhodberth: I guess we won't start VII untill the end of august....
[02:37] Crostothlay: but yeah, i'll be putting up a final post
[02:37] The Capo: I will too.
          [02:38] Lazer KP: yea rho
[02:38] Crostothlay: heck, annie's lineage dates back to the very first ruler of russia XD
[02:38] rhodberth: I used real people in the 2nd part of the game as well, but not in the right order
[02:38] The Capo: I was thinking of putting up a post about the agent that bombed Lahore, from her perspective.

          • [02:38] Lazer KP: ooohhh, the Great War in replay
[02:38] rhodberth: the 1st great war?
[02:38] Lazer KP: there was only one
[02:38] The Capo: Annies lineage dates back to the very first Spanish ruler too.
[02:38] The Capo: Is it as boring in replay as it was (for me) in real life?
[02:38] rhodberth: no, there was a 2nd great war, that leaded to the OOC great war
[02:38] Crostothlay: and to the very first indian ruler
[02:38] Lazer KP: Boston is mine!
[02:39] Crostothlay: isn't it karachi now?
            [02:39] The Capo: Hah hah.
[02:39] rhodberth: ah, you admit that it's named Boston!
[02:39] Lazer KP: it was then
[02:39] The Capo: We can admit anything now.
[02:39] Lazer KP: now it is karachi
[02:39] Lazer KP: cause everyone is indianized now
[02:39] The Capo: I was a little discouraged about the OOC complaining from deity about the bombing.
[02:39] Lazer KP: the great war was the best part of the whole game
[02:39] The Capo: I can understand that he was pissed, but at the same time its part of the game.
            [02:39] Crostothlay: heh
[02:40] Lazer KP: yea but he erased it all
[02:40] The Capo: World War II could have been the best part of the whole game, if you didn't puss out.
[02:40] rhodberth: that's why I said that he shouldn't use OOC comments in the story thread
[02:40] The Capo: Yeah, good call Rho'd.
[02:40] rhodberth: that's a part of the game, that you're accused of things you didn't do
            [02:40] The Capo: Yeah.
[02:40] * Crostothlay cheers for ivan
[02:40] The Capo: And so is lying about things you did do.
            [02:41] Lazer KP:

[02:41] rhodberth: I had many missionaries heading into India when the Great War started
            [02:41] Lazer KP: ah-ha!
            [02:41] rhodberth: hehehe
[02:41] rhodberth: but I didn't got the intention to start a war
[02:41] Crostothlay: i knew it XD
[02:41] Lazer KP: well i told you not to
[02:41] Crostothlay: you insulted ivan, what did you expect?
[02:41] The Capo: This was a good game.
[02:41] Crostothlay: he isn't called the terrible for nothing
[02:41] rhodberth: you setted up the jewish persecution, I had to
[02:41] rhodberth: I was heading for war with Russia
[02:41] The Capo: There could have been a little more action, but it actually ended.
[02:41] rhodberth: I just wanted to keep India out of it
[02:41] Lazer KP: what do you think Capo, compared to HOTW2?
[02:42] rhodberth: I think the Great War was a war that nobody wanted, we all were sucked into it
[02:42] Crostothlay: chanyaka was the equivalent of riechale or however you spell hat french cardinal
[02:42] The Capo: Well, HOTW 2 has fondness in my heart. Although it did end kind of ****ed up.
[02:42] Lazer KP: pssh, England and Inca weren't sucked in
[02:42] Lazer KP: they jumped in to gang up on me and russia
[02:42] rhodberth: I asked them to
            [02:42] Crostothlay: yeah
[02:42] The Capo: Yeah, they totally did.
[02:42] Lazer KP: i loved CHanakya
[02:42] rhodberth: I have sent like 100 pm's in that week
[02:42] rhodberth: I tried to get Capo on my side as well, but failed
[02:42] Lazer KP: though we were planning to start a war anyways
[02:43] The Capo: I was already on their side.
[02:43] rhodberth: I had made a map with arrows how every one of us should move his units
[02:43] Crostothlay: yeah, it was just that ivan was too hotheaded
[02:43] Lazer KP: but Rho started the war a session early
[02:43] Lazer KP: and we were unprepared
            [02:43] Crostothlay: yeah
[02:43] The Capo: Actually, I had deity fooled into thinking I was going to sack St. Petersburg.
[02:43] rhodberth: I didn't start the war, you guys started the war
            [02:43] rhodberth:
[02:43] Lazer KP: i was gonna spend that session building troops and attack the following session
[02:43] rhodberth: I just insulted Ivan very very much (he deserved it!)
            [02:43] Crostothlay:
[02:44] rhodberth: killing innocent jews in the streets of St Petersburg
[02:44] The Capo: I was hoping their would be a war, everyone at my job knows about this game.
[02:44] Crostothlay: you don't insult a ruler and expect that he doesn't declare war
[02:44] Lazer KP: we all need to reveal our PMs and IM conversations and such
[02:44] The Capo: And the bombing.
[02:44] rhodberth: you never expected that England and Inca would be on my side, that was my surprise
[02:44] The Capo: And we were all hoping for a war.
            [02:44] Lazer KP: hehehe, nice
[02:44] The Capo: So everyone knew, it was kinda strange.
[02:44] rhodberth: I've removed much PM's because of no room on poly anymore
[02:44] Lazer KP: that is so profounding geeky, heh
[02:44] Crostothlay: true, but you didn't know that spain was entering on our side
[02:45] Lazer KP: yea spain was our response
[02:45] rhodberth: he only entered later when things looked bad
[02:45] Lazer KP: but the two of us held you 5 off pretty damn good
[02:45] rhodberth: he didn't got the intention to enter at first
[02:45] Crostothlay: what *did* you initially plan to do with my zionist pm, rho?
[02:45] Crostothlay: i was expecting you to reply to it before nick got offed
[02:45] Lazer KP: well 3 i guess since nolan was feeding us troops
            [02:45] rhodberth: your zionist pm?
            [02:45] Crostothlay: yeah
[02:45] The Capo: Yeah, China was sending them soldiers all the time.
[02:45] Lazer KP: i love my brilliant manuever that saved Madras and captured Boston
[02:46] Crostothlay: nolan was practically a vassel state
[02:46] Lazer KP: that was just genius
[02:46] The Capo: Man, you shoudl have attacked England.
[02:46] rhodberth: about zionist terrorism in Russia?
[02:46] The Capo: That's why I made the UN resolution so harsh.
            [02:46] Crostothlay: yeah
[02:46] The Capo: So he wouldn't accept it.
[02:46] rhodberth: Your capture of Boston was brilliant!
            [02:46] Lazer KP: hehe
[02:46] The Capo: Yeah, I didn't get to see it unfortunately.
[02:46] rhodberth: I had the intention to not support zion rebels in Russia
[02:46] The Capo: I kinda didn't like where my country was, because it was off in the cut, surrounded by three big countries.
[02:46] Crostothlay: if you had sent an official letter to nick, things might have turned out very different
[02:47] rhodberth: that's what I was doing all the time, but then the war started and I decided that the zionist weren't terrorists but persecuted peacefull people
[02:47] Crostothlay: i sent the pm some time before the session *shakes fist*
[02:47] Lazer KP: i was thinking abotu war capo
[02:47] The Capo: I totally dropped the ball on Buddhism by the way.
[02:47] rhodberth: I didn't really like it that Nolan backed you up, we were totally not aware since we weren't able to communicate with her
[02:47] The Capo: Well I just wanted to get into a war.
[02:47] The Capo: So I was hoping you'd attack them so I can attack deity.
[02:47] rhodberth: You know the real reason behind the great war btw?
            [02:47] Lazer KP: ?
            [02:48] Lazer KP: greed?
[02:48] rhodberth: You sent me a letter in which you asked me to stop sending jewish missionaries, right?
            [02:48] Lazer KP: yea
[02:48] rhodberth: you used a special font to make it a special letter
            [02:48] Lazer KP: yea
[02:48] rhodberth: the letter didn't really got an evil tone, it was quite polite, right?
            [02:48] Lazer KP: yea
[02:48] The Capo: What the hell, out with it man!
[02:48] Crostothlay: where is this heading? >_>
            [02:48] Lazer KP: hehe
[02:48] rhodberth: I read that letter on my work, which didn't the special font
[02:49] rhodberth: so I got the letter on my screen in all caps, huge font, screaming!
            [02:49] Lazer KP: haha
            [02:49] Crostothlay: XD
[02:49] rhodberth: I read it like India was unpolitely telling me to stick my missionaries in my @ss
[02:49] The Capo: That's still kind of strange.
            [02:49] Lazer KP: that's funny
[02:49] rhodberth: later I read the message on my home screen, and saw that it wasn't that bad
            [02:49] Lazer KP: heheheh
[02:49] Crostothlay: but the damage was done
            [02:49] Lazer KP: that's great
[02:49] rhodberth: But because I first read it as an evil letter I started to deny that I had missionaries
[02:50] The Capo: Alright everyone, I'd better get to bed.
[02:50] The Capo: Sorry about Lahore Ozzy, it had to be done.
[02:50] Lazer KP: at what point was nico & deity brought in?
[02:50] Crostothlay: we should post all these hidden anadotes
[02:50] rhodberth: If I would've read it in the normal tone I would surely have token my missionaries back since I didn't want war.
[02:50] Lazer KP: all's fair in love & war
[02:50] rhodberth: I thought you wanted war, that's why I started to deny, I thought it was inevitable
            [02:50] The Capo: Peace.
[02:50] Lazer KP: i'm gonna post htis chat

[02:50] Crostothlay: i meant in story form
[02:50] Lazer KP: cause we would have just built up troops and attacked next session
[02:51] Crostothlay: yeah, that was why i brought in ivan
[02:51] rhodberth: so in the end you provked the war 1 session 2 early by sending me letters with strange fonts 8)

[02:51] Crostothlay: yeah, it's like the first world war

                            • In 1719, Anna Akhmatova completed and published her greatest work. War and Peace, unusually for the poet, was a novel, and one of the longest works of fiction ever at that. But true to Anna's form, it was written very much in the post-modern style, breaking so many novelistic conventions of its day that many critics of the time did not consider it as such.

The novel tells the story of a number of aristocratic families (particularly the Bezukhovs, the Bolkonskis, and the Rostovs) and the entanglements of their personal lives with the history of the First Great War, specifically the Northern Alliance's invasion of Russia. As events proceed, Anna systematically denies her subjects any significant free choice: the onward roll of history determines happiness and tragedy alike.

The standard Russian text is divided into four books (fifteen parts) and two epilogues. While roughly the first two-thirds of the novel concern themselves strictly with the fictional characters, the later parts of the novel, as well as one of the work's two epilogues, increasingly contain highly controversial, nonfictional essays about the nature of war, political power, history, and historiography. Anna interspersed these essays into the story in a way which defies conventional fiction. Certain abridged versions removed these essays entirely, while others simply moved these essays into an appendix.

Amazingly, Anna spent a mere two years writing War and Peace. For a poet who usually spent months crafting and perfecting her epic poems, this was extremely fast. Anna later said that the inspiration came to her as she was contemplating atop the Chichen Itza; it was thus no surprise that the novel was dedicated to Novgorod, the city that she had made her home. War and Peace was a sensational hit, selling millions of copies worldwide within the first year of its release.

                              ---

Joseph Brodsky passed away in the summer of 1745. By this time, Anastasia Romanov's term as Prime Minister was coming to an end. Despite the fears that Anna and Brodsky had expressed (and that Anna gave voice to in War and Peace), war did not after all break out. What happened instead was a massive 'war' behind the shadows.

It started when a Chinese agent was caught red-handed by the Indian authorities trying to conduct sabotage. Predictably, India was outraged, and along with America, it mobilized for war. Russia followed suit. The SVG, until then serving in the capacity of UN inspector in various English and Incan cities, was mobilized as well, in a fashion not seen since the days of Stalin and the KGB.

As Indian and Russian troops stared at Chinese troops across the closed borders, the intelligence services of all three nations waged a deadly war of cloak and dagger. This became known, quite appropriatedly, as the Shadow War, since apart from the opening salvo, the actions by both sides were never publicly acknowledged, and indeed, other than the closed borders, there remained a veneer of civility between the three nations. Occasionally, the Chinese would stage flybys over Russian airspace in a physical show of intimidation; Russian jets returned the favor. But the only shots fired were in the back alleys and dark corners of Indian and Chinese cities.

In the end, the SVG proved to be not quite as successful as the KGB had been. Many of its field agents were eventually uncovered and summarily executed. Their long-term mission, however, was successful; in 1751 AD, India became the first nation to launch her interstellar spaceship. Anastasia lived just long enough to see the launch on NTV. She passed away two days later, three months before elections were due to be held. Millions of Russians turned up to attend her funeral; she was buried in the grounds of the Hagia Sophia, next to the small memorial to that most famous of her ancestors, Nicholas the Great.

Under Anastasia, the Russian armed forces had become one of the strongest in the world. In her second term, the emphasis was shifted to investment in infrastructure, which had been sorely neglected in the Soviet era. The Varyag Cheka [SDI] was created, as the threat of nuclear Armageddeon seemed to loom ever closer on the horizon. Boris Berezovsky, Russia's richest (and most eccentric) man, personally invested in a stock exchange in Yaroslavl'; the Berezovsky Stock Exchange [Wall Street] greatly boosted the economy of the holy city of Christiandom.

Boris Yeltsin succeeded Anastasia as party leader of the Democratic Party of Russia, and assumed his duties as caretaker Prime Minister. As the various parties once again prepared to run for office, eyes inevitably turned to Anna, who, after all, was Anastasia's daughter. She was the direct descandant of Nicholas the Great, nee Sri Rama of Hindu mythology. She was the direct descandant of Princess Sita, daughter of the legendary Indian King Janaka. She was also directly descended, through her grandmother Catherine's marriage, from the imperial Spanish family, and via Peter II's marriage to Princess Geria, she was directly descended from one of the many Chinese emperors. Most importantly, with Anastasia's death, Anna was now the last of the Romanovs.

Would Anna subcumb to the pressure, and run for office? Would the line of the Romanovs someday return to again rule Russia as Tsars and Emperors? Would the Communists, now relegated to the fringes of Russian society, one day return to claim their 'manifest destiny', and resurrect the RSSR? Would Christ return to Terra, as the Bible prophesized, and commence the Day of Judgement? Would, indeed, Nicholas himself rise from the dead, and once again lead Russia to greatness?

These are questions that do not yet have an answer. The wheel of history turns, as it always has been turning. Humanity has taken its first step out of the cradle known as Earth. What happens next... is best left to future generations.
