Converting a ST game to PBEM

I have played MP Civ3 with a group of gentlemen who prefer to get together on a Sunday afternoon and play out several turns with the game set up for simultaneous turns, then convert the game to a PBEM until we can get together again for a long session. We've tried this once with Civ4, but we were not able to do so successfully. Has anyone else tried this with Civ4, and have you been successful?

Sorry but I don't think that is at all possible right now. I suspect mostly due to the inherit limitations of PBEM, but when pitboss comes out that should solve your issues as it can be played like a normal MP game in real time but is inherently designed to be a persistant online PBEM style game. It's not released yet, but as you can see in the 1.52 patch there is a "PB" column in the MP lobby already to support Pitoss games when pitboss is released.
