Let me start by saying , I dont have any screen shots or saves. It's about 1am my time, I have to work tomorrow and was just playing for fun.

OK here's the situation. 4 players - standard map - everyone is noble. I'm doing pretty good but this other guy is between 2 and 3 times my score. He's around 700, I'm around 300 and the other 2 players are around 200. OK, sour grapes you say, but please read the entire post.

So eventually the other 2 players quit. (They are having "good games" and don't know what to do) At this point he's around 900 and I'm still in the 300's (It's about 2 turns later). So I send him a message telling him he gave me the best ass-kicking I have ever got. I ask him how he did so well. Did he build settlers early??? Did he grow his cap?? What was his strategy?

He says he got 2 settlers and a worker out of a huts.

IS THAT POSSIBLE? The only unit I have ever gotten out of a hut is a scout.

So I sign back on under my son's sign-on and he's in the lobby. I ask him to a game.

SAME THING - He's got 400 points before anyone has 200. So I just dropped and wrote this post.

2 QUESTIONS:

1) Has anyone ever gotten a settler or worker out of a hut in a Noble MP game (let alone 2 sets and a worker)

2) Has anyone else run into this type of situation in a MP game.

If someone tells me this is possible I will just leave it at that. But, if as I suspect, this is impossible are we gonna have to live thru the whole "cheat era" in Civ IV MP. I really hoped that that wasnt gonna be possible this time around.

P.S. If the general consensus is that this is impossible - I will release the players name at that time.

Settlers are not possible on noble did you get any file mis-match errors when you joined his games? Or did he change his difficultly level at the last moment before he launched?

There has been no cases of proven cheating in CIV MP as of yet, that's not to say he's not doing something unsportmenlike though, cheat programs/trainers would case huge OOS problems and modified game files cause errors when you join, I think more likely that he is just not playing on Noble

you should have tried attacking him, if he has thrown all his effort into expansion + the related score boost, it has to come at the expense of defence.

He freaking changed to settler. Like I haven't done that twice before.

I was host - and I am pretty sure (but not positive) we were all noble at launch.

The one time someone tried that cheese in one of the games I was hosting, I booted his ass. Sounds like thats what this guy is doing, since goody huts do not grant settlers or workers on Noble.

You can get workers on Noble but not Settlers.

You can? I play all of my multiplayer games on noble and have never gotten a free worker. I thought I read somewhere that you can only get workers and/ or settlers from huts on warlord or below.

Workers are very rare , have only gotten 3 and was a tester so have played a few games

I've never seen anything other than maps, tech, free unit, and experience (and barbs of course) from huts. Though I've never played below noble.

There's a 'no cheating' option available if you're the host, before you start the game. Should help quite a bit.

Yeah, that wasn't available at the time. My question is, do we really need a "no cheating" option? It seems kinda silly.

Well I understand that - I guess what I meant was why even have that as an option. It seems like it should be automatic.
