  • Gamespy Login for multiplayer

CIV 4 asks for Gamespy login and password, but will not allow the @ sign. Gamespy logs people in using the email address and password, so you need to use the @.

I tried using the nickname I use in Gamespy, but that didn't work either.

Where's the disconnect I'm not seeing?

Create a new account through CIV and then when you go to login it will just take the nickname as your login name (not your email address).

I'm actually not able to create a name. When I try, and I have tried for 3 days now, I keep getting "This login attempt has failed".

How can I create one that lets me in?

Tell it you want to create a new login. Then type the nickname and password you usually use to log onto gamespy and it will take it and use it.

I tried that, and still get the same problem. When I try using a gamespy ID that I have just to login, I get "The Connection to the Game Browsing Server has failed."

I have every port needed open. Por que!?!

I'm getting this to, and I know others as well.

            What gives?

              Me too.

Edit: Ah, I went and created an account at gamespyid.com then validated it, then in civ created an account with exactly the same information, and it worked. Sort of. I got to the multiplayer lobby and it started to list games, then the sound started looping/stuttering and I CTD'd.
