Random question - what determines the order of the civgroup icons? I'm not sure i understand for example why my Vox Controli icon is in a dramatically different position from my Euphorica icon ... I thought 'alpha by image title' but why are the c3/c4 mp icons in the middle?

I belive they are in the order that you joined the groups. At least, last time I checked there were no ordering of them.

Hmm, yet my Civ4-MP icon is before my Euphorica icon, as is my C3CIDG (both were post-euphorica)...

Ah well, a mystery Perhaps they're ordered based on the server's file fragmentation

Yes, it's true that you might be inserted before in the database if someone left a civgroup you might take the spot occupied by that user.

civ4 uses gamespy id for internet games and this will be a way to ensure that we know who you're in the game and in the forums

One of the many vast improvements for CIV MP is that it uses the secure Gamespy logins. This has the major advantage of preventing "imposters" in MP games and real problem in the MP community with C3C. It's a painless process, the first time you enter the CIV MP lobby you will just have to chose "create new account" and enter your email(must be a valid one) and your prefered username and pw, and you are done.
