Until now I never played Multiplayer although it looks fun. I was wondering if you play a MP game do you have to keep playing to the finish or can you stop let's say after 2 hours and continue the next day?

I believe it has something to do with the civics options if I'm not mistaken.Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?
