The Emperor Jontana II, is a man impressed by the people of knowledge, and has become interested in thoughts of PACIFISM, that wise men of the Empire is preaching.
He does not focus as much on warfare as the Kings before him.
He founds many institutions to attract intellectuals and artists.
Growing from this fame the cities of New Jonta Hut and River City grows rapidly, and by the year of 1250 they have grown to become one city. Jontana decides to name this great city Emperor City.
A city of World fame. A city where people from all around the world comes to share their thoughts.
The centre of knowledge in the known world.

The son and grandson of Jontana II: Jontana III and especially Jontana IV changes this strategy
In their era 1258-1346 they invest heavily in the army, equipping old army groups with more modern weapons, and training new groups to defend their expansion into the north.
The new northern region is a hostile area. The winter is cold, with weeklong snowstorms, and the area is often attacked by barbarian tribes. The winter of 1290, 2 and a half meter of snow fell in Kuriku, and the town of Silvojon was surrounded by barbarians fore more than a month, cut of from the mainlands, in a temperature of minus 15 c.
The city people called this northern province The Snow Country.

In this era Gunpowder was invented in the Jonta Empire.

More war!

After the Death of Jonata IV, the throne goes to his only son Jonata V, but he is not fit to be an Emperor, he is more interested in doing things with young boys, than the welfare of his people.
Soon the central government holds little power. And the great army of the Jontan Empire I disorganized.
This plays into the hands of an old enemy of the Jontans, and in 1354 an army of the Julius Empire is walking towards the north. The Jontans is threatened by war.

Holy War.
The Emperor is in panic, and without any knowledge of warfare. Consequently he does near to nothing about the threat from the south, and the military leaders stationed around the Empire does nothing, they await his orders.
But one group of society knows how to react. The high priests of the Hind religion, the official religion of the Empire, stationed it the The Great Hind Temple in the northern part of Emperor City.
These high priests is in control of monks in temples throughout the empire, and also temples in other Empires such as the Kingdom of Bismakkans and the the Kingdom of the Alexanders and even a few temples as far away as the Louisiana Empire.
They send out monks from Emperor City to all the military leaders in the Jonta Empire, with plans of how to reorganise the imperial army and orders to send forces to the southeast of the empire, to stop the invasion. At the same time monks reach for the Palace of the Alexander King to get his help. In the years from 1346-1368 the Empire is fighting the invaders, but every attack is beaten back. In 1370 the holy men of Hind persuades the Alexander King to declare war on the Julius Empire, and soon the Julius army is pulling back. In 1371 the high priests of Hind negotiates the terms of peace. The Julius emperor pays well.

The rule of the high priests have begun, once again the Emperor is but a marionette.
At the year of 1410 war have raged for nearly 40 years between The Alexander king and the
Empire of Julius. The Alexander king begs the high priests of the Jonta Empire to attack the Vassals of the Empire of Julius at the west of the Jonta Empire. The high priest accepts and sends out an army of more than 25.000 men, into the woodlands to the west.
But it is al just an act of the Alexander king, as soon as the army is far of. The Alexander King attacks the Jonta Empire. But they underestimated the Empire of the High Priests and soon defend is turned to attack. Before the year of 1488 The Jonta Empire has captured the three northern citys of The Alexander Kingdom, but the year of AD1492 an huge Alexandern army takes back the strategically important city of Ligurian. In the years from 1492 until 1522 the war continues but with no result. Most of the fighting is about the city of Ligurian, but the Empire of the high priests does not manage to overtake it.

The New Leaders
In AD 1548 the war with the Alexander King ends without peace negotiations, both nations is tired of the fighting, leading nowhere and at the cost of many sufferings.
The High Priests now focus again on there religion, yet they set up a great deal of academies, making the way for engineers and architects. In this period the Jontas develop the knowledge to create many new inventions, military and otherwise. And they discover coal.
By the year of 1596 a total war breaks out, at first the Luisiana Empire and Huayna nation, declares war upon the Saladin Empire. Soon they persuade The Bismakkans and the Jonta Empire to join in.
A few years later The Alexander King, The Luisiana Empire and the Jontans also declare war upon the Julius Empire. The war lasts for many years, but no land is taken nor lost by the Jontans.
The rich trading Families are very tired of warfare with no benefits to neither trade nor the common man, and in the year of AD 1649 the old government is overthrown, and replaced by a Parliament
The rich landowners of trading houses, now takes control, even though every free man or woman, in principle is able to vote and be elected. Off course the workers and slaves are not invited.
In celebration of this new power, the people raise a statue of freedom.
Jonta Republic is born.
But warfare is not all forgotten, and in 1654 a sudden attack at the Alexander Kingdom results in the takeover of Ligurian, the Jonta Republic expands towards the south and west.
By now the Jonta Republic is by far the largest nation, housing more than 21 million souls.

The Golden Age of the Republic, 1670-1740
Up until 1740 the republic is at peace. The political situation is calm, even though a labour union is established in the major cities, where factories start popping up in the period. Only a few violent labour leaders are arrested.
The focus is opon modernising the army and every army group are equipped with new weapons.
Near the Military headquarters in Cika Inka a military university is build, to train the coming officers of a growing army and the newly build Jontan navy.
The Jontan army is not the largest in the world, but the Jontans believe it the best.
In 1740 the The Luisiana Republic ask the Jonta Republic, to join forces and attack the Julians, which are ruled by a dictator by the name of Adolfine, a terrible women. Killing every bit of opposition in The Julian Nation.
But the Julian Nation is far away, and the Parliament decides only to send a small navy force, with a few minor divisions of little or no training in modern warfare.

The generals of the military university, wants to make war at a larger scale, to show that their training is successful. They persuades the parliament to lay pressure on the Bismakkans, and the Jontan government put heavy taxes on goods from the west, and send spys to their capital.
At the same time railroads was constructed across the land, to support an attack.

Soon a diplomatic crisis arises and in 1750 the 2nd army of the Jontas, crosses the borders.
