  • AU101 Proposals Thread

    Long overdue, let us get the ball rolling on AU101. I think we can skip over the second "primer" course, as most it seems have been playing the game long enough to not need a general concepts course. Let's get down to specifics with this one. Please post your proposals here so we can get this thing moving.

      How about one where we try to found as many religions as possible? Could be called "The Power of Prayer"

        I've once managed to found every religion. None of my opponents were Spiritual, though.

        At the end of the game I had tons of money rolling in from my opponents' religions.

            I vote the power of prayer.
            BTW,once I founded 5 religions;if I just could choise the place of the holy shrines...but I couldn't.

              My proposal would be for effective creation/use of Great People. Because, frankly, I'm still pretty bad at it and could use the help

                  Power of Prayer works for me

                  you can do major Specialist/GPP work with religions...

                  I've gotten all 7 religions before as well, but you have to be a civ that can get all 3 early religions before anyone else.. the other 4 are GP grabs, or just being uber scientifically focused...

                  then go free religion ASAP.. since your religions will try to get out, and it'll be a mixed group until you can missionary everyone.

                    Some kind of a relgiously inspired one would be cool... a GP one as well. But what about warfare, no special interest in that?

                      Warfare would be cool, especially an Always War game...but I would let people become...more used to the AI before they did that...

                          I vote against marathon. These AU games take enough time as it is, with the DARs and thoroughness. If there is a way to make game speed optional, that would be great, as people have different schedules, preferences and available playing time. Fast games I think will make more people want to participate.

                          I’d like some warring. My suggestion:
                          -Aggressive civ with late UU, because then we’ll get a more general approach to warring, and we avoid the “must hurry to use UU while it’s good”-issue due to fast game speed.
                          -Small or medium map, standard or more #opponents
                          -Objective: Conquest (turn off all other?)

                            Great people would be fun.

                            So would religion.

                            Warring would be a fairly typical game for me unless something like 'always war' was turned on. (does that option turn off WW? and if not... )

                            I'ld personally not play an OCC game, but might read up on you guys who do.

                            I would find a cultural victory one most challenging (and therefore interesting) for the simple fact it's WELL outside my style.

                              Well, perhaps there could be a combined scenario along the lines of...

                              Lord of Religion: The goal of this AU is to control every religion. Attempt to found as many as possible yourself, and those that you cannot, gain control of the Holy Cities by one means or another...

                              I think that would create some interesting situations in terms of manipulating the spread of religions to try and sway allies to take out the "heathens"
