Just out of interest, do you want everyone to play at the same game speed, or should we mix it up (maybe to compare effects of different game speeds)?

Yep, plus those forest tiles. Monster start spot. 6-8 floodplains (depending on what's under the fog to the NW/NE), 3 plains hills (one forested), 1 grass hill, 3 forested grassland, 1 grassland corn, 1 forested plains.
+3 health from EXP, +2 from forest, and you can chop 1 and still have the +2. Nice.

Sorry to go a bit off-topic but I had a question reguarding AU games. Are they all going to be played in Normal speed? I don't know about everyone else but I haven't played normal speed since my first game of Civ4. I've seen alot of people saying it was too quick and recommending Epic/Marathon over it for singleplayer though. So could it possible to just split up the results based on speed setting instead of only restricting to one?
If AU goes the way it did in Civ3 and eventually tries to create a mod to help the AI having results from the other speeds would help since alot of sp-only people play Epic/Marathon only. On the other side of that I think is multi, which stick to quick much of the time(or so i've heard). Even if a mod isn't created the strategies used on each speed is going to be a little different. If you allow the other speeds just make people flag their reports with whatever speed was used so that can be taken into account.
Anyway, just my thoughts, I was going to give it a go then saw the normal-only thing."Every good communist should know political power grows out of the barrel of a gun." - Mao tse-Tung

I assume some of the future courses will be at a speed other than normal, but a given course really should have all players at the same speed.
I would second your (implied) motion for the next course to be at either Epic or Marathon. So far, I've played only normal & quick.
[The Alpha Centauri map's default speed was quick; probably related to SMAC having fewer turns.]

I have a motion that on the next course that we have a DAR by era that we consider "Theology" to be part of the Classical Era.
We're getting non existant Classical Era DARs due to Theology being Considered a Middle Age Tech dispite requiring two Ancient Era techs in combo with the ease of getting Theology via Oracle.1st C3DG Term 7 Science Advisor 1st C3DG Term 8 Domestic Minister

but I agree.. there should at least be a 'Classical' era precursor to Theology...
maybe Alphabet or Monarchy?
(but this is a discussion for another thread)

I have just joined the University and will start AU101 A.S.A.P. However, I am unsure what DAR stands for. Could someone enlighten me please?Artificial Intelligence is no match for Natural Stupidity.
