Hi everyone! I'm new at Civ 4 and I'm trying to play online with a friend (by PBEM). We have both yahoo mail and use smtp.mail.yahoo.com, but it says it can't send it. How do we make it work?

hello juako,

describe your problem a little bit more. how did you tried it? sending the saved game file via the game (after entering your mail address in the game profile), or sending in a common mail with an attachement (like sending a jpg, pdf or mp3 file)?

then the file must end with *.Civ4SavedGame

i'm also new at civ4, but i just tried the PBEM and there was no problem.

We tried it via the game. We entered our adresses and smtp.mail.yahoo.com as the SMTP server

never tried it like this - our last PBEM (Civ-CTP 1) is 2 years ago and was transferred by e-mail-attachement.

perhaps an existing firewall prevents the game from sending the e-mail?

du you want to give me your mailaddy in a personal message? i could make a try to send you a test game saved file ...
