Does Civ 4 work in Win 7 64?

Im getting the "missing MSVCR71.dll" error as a lot of people seem to be, but even after getting the .dll, and putting it in systen32 and sysWOW64 folders, im still getting the error. This is a brand new fresh install of 7 and uninstalling/reinstalling the game doesnt help.Ive tried running it in Compatability mode, Ive updates my Directx and everything, but its not working at all.
I even tried running regsvr32 but apparently I dont have that either, running 64 bit Windows 7
Is there ANY way to get this game to work on Windows 7 64?

I have installed CIV4-Civ4-WarLords-Civ4-BTS on Win7 x64 without any problems. Did install it in its own dir not the default place, it works fine.

that didnt work either. Still getting the same error. And its regular, vanilla Civ 4 and a fresh Win 7 install. Its funny, I can run Crysis on High but not Civ 4
