Single Player Questions

I finally got Civ4 a coule of months ago and have some questions.
Is there a way to customize my leader name and civ name is the custom game. Seems like 2K left out that little tidbit. I like the idea of playing 18 civs of my choosing, but also want to be able to name my civ and leader, so I play the regular Play Now single player, where I can actually name my civ and leader, but can't choose my opponents and don't even know how many civs there are in that option. Without going deep into the coded guts of the game, is there a way to customize either version (single player or custom)further?

MN, the Options allows you to set some of those items. From the main game menu, go to Advanced, then Options. For other settings, look in your CIV (BtS) folder for a text file which you can edit with Notepad; it should be self-explanatory once you open it.

I don't see it anywhere. What folder is it in?

You can rename your civ and leader at any time in the game options under "my details." Is that the literal question? Or did I miss something?
