the game wont let me build attack subs, why? i have radio and combustion and uranium. there is nothing using the uranium, i have two sources yet when i highlight the attack sub build its blacked out and says needs uranium, i even cheated and went to WB and gave myself the 2nd source, still it wont let me build them, WTF. why o why cant i build attack subs? i have all requirements.

yep, for some reason now in bts 3.19 you have to have fission i guess too which is not a prerequisite for attack subs, very strange indeed.
i know vanilla didnt have attack subs but everything that required uranium didnt require fission, the only thing that requires fission is the "manhattan project" thats it, this must be a bug in the bts code cuz it doesnt state that attack subs require the knowledge of fission too, only radio/combustion/uranium(w/trade route obviously but i did have it, it was part of the city when it appeared), so who knows, has this happend to anyone else?Last edited by brandonjm8; December 14, 2009, 01:07.

It's not a bug... if you don't have the tech to utilize uranium (fission) then you don't *have* uranium, whether or not you have it mined.I'm consitently stupid- Japher
I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

What's wrong with having a LATER attack sub with AIP* power (comes later than fission, is quieter than a nuc sub), but doesn't require uranium?

then shouldnt they state that fission is a prerequisite for nuclear units? cuz they dont. only uranium which is shown after physics, if you can mine it then you have it. like oil you can see it with scientific method but cant utilize it til combustion and/or plastics, get my point? if they do that for oil and make you wait, why dont they state that for uranium? there isnt anything that states "fission" as a requirement other than above mentioned "manhattan project". for example just in case you guys dont get it: you get scientific method and see oil, you research combustion in order to use oil and build modern navies, but it states in the civlopedia that you must have combustion and/or plastics for those units you have to have oil "mined" or welled, now with uranium you see it with physics but this time you can "mine" it, so if you can mine it then you have it, and attack subs require uranium not fission, nowhere on any of the nuclear units will you see "must have fission" on any of them, prove me wrong cuz ive looked, i just think that it should state everything it needs, very confusing otherwise. if you mine something you have it, you can see resources but not always "mine" them like oil you must wait but with uranium you dont have too wait thus you mine right away thus you have it, no its ands or buts about it.Last edited by brandonjm8; December 14, 2009, 19:35.

Yeah, the you can mine uranium but not really have it always annoyed me also. It's the only resource that behaves like that. It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple
