  • March promo

Let's say I have a march promo'ed unit and it is in a tile with a Woods III and/or Medic I-III unit.

Will it heal with the Medic/Woods bonuses or just at its own rate?

If not, had it Medic or Woods III would it then benefit?

I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

March promo does not give a healing rate. It only allows it to heal (at whatever rate is available in its tile at END OF TURN) in the same turn it moves.

EDIT: Woodsman III and the medic promotions stack together, and heal all units in the tile (or adjacent tiles as appropriate*). I've had conflicting experiences whether units healed have to belong to the same PLAYER (as opposed to neutral or allied).

However, WHEN does the healing take place? When you end your turn, or before you start your next turn (after everyone else moves)?

E.g., my half-strength march-promoed infantry moves onto a tile with medic-2 AT infantry, but the AT gets eaten by an enemy ... whatever. I'm the aggressor (in enemy lands), so it could be a major difference, 5 or 35(?) HP (5% healing in enemy territory, 10% heal for medic, 20% for medic2).

They heal when all healing-eligible units heal, at the end of your turn.

March just removes the need to be immobile to get healed, so Marching units do benefit from external (your own, or your teammates, Vassal's units don't give a benefit) WMIII / Medics.
        It's a lowercase L, not an uppercase I.

"Woodsman III and the medic promotions stack."

I did not know that. If the march unit ends up on a tile with no medical personnel, does he just heal the regular amount? What is the regular healing rate in enemy territory? Thanks.

Or does it heal at the start of your turn.
I only ask because if you've just bombarded a city and waiting a turn to release the hounds, i've taken bomber damage in between turns and when my turn starts (if I have a nice triple heal GG) my stack may show no damage. So it appears AI moves (bombs) then my turn starts and heals occur for units that didn't move the previous.

Note that the Medic and Woody III promotions only stack if they are on the same unit.

Yes, if the march unit ends it's turn on a tile with no medics it heals at it's regular rate.

IIRC, the base healing rates are: 5% in enemy territory, 10% in neutral, 15% in friendly and 20% in cities.

You LIE, sir. (Nah, but I'm sure you ARE quite mistaken).

But you're NOT mistaken in this. (Don't think you're lying, either).

Jaybe, bad enough you attack the man's character, but after asserting he is wrong, you do not correct. Not like you or this forum to take a gratuitous shot.

So the march-promoted unit even if moved and non-march units if not moved will be healed by both types of healers if on the same tile. The medic will heal units in adjacent tiles if he has the proper promotion. What about the woodsman?

Woodsman 3 healing is same tile only. It's all in Assets/XML/Units/CIV4PromotionInfos.xml.

                    Type PROMOTION_WOODSMAN3 /Type
                    ...
                    iEnemyHealChange 0 /iEnemyHealChange
                    iNeutralHealChange 0 /iNeutralHealChange
                    iFriendlyHealChange 0 /iFriendlyHealChange
                    iSameTileHealChange 15 /iSameTileHealChange
                    iAdjacentTileHealChange 0 /iAdjacentTileHealChange
